Bristol Pre Race Thread

Statement from Rick Ware Racing

Cody Ware will step away from racing this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway to focus on a personal matter. Matt Crafton will drive the No. 51 Ford Mustang for Rick Ware Racing. Crafton has more than 500 overall-starts in his NASCAR career, winning back-to-back
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championships in 2013 and 2014.

The Ware family asks that their privacy be respected during this time.
Cody has struggled with mental health in the past so I hope everything is okay.

The weather reporter has a wet forecast for tonight.

Completely understandable . . . .

You can be good at something and still dislike it, even if it benefits you. The Intimidator hated restrictor plate racing, even though he excelled at it.

My money’s on CBell. 🤓
I thought he looked good yesterday, but that track will change....Speaking of which....Some interesting chat on NASCAR Radio this week about the difficulty in writing sim software for this race because of the changing track conditions and measuring grip because of that. Seems to me that these would be the same struggles software engineers would go through with any track....

You want to fill that place back up every time? Put it back like it used to be. One lane asphalt where they had to root the guy in front out of the way. For the life of me I dont understand why Marcus hasnt done this, bite the bullet and spend the money
So is Bristol concrete? I’ve seen multiple people on social saying this. Why is asphalt better than concrete for Bristol and why was the repave from that screwed up to where there are multiple grooves? I was watching highlights on YouTube of the night race from 98 and literally every car was on the bottom. My next question is wouldnt the new fan then complain about that, seems like most like the multiple groove one high one low racing

I am thinking they cheated and just used spray on Dust-Oleums and some Synthetic dust particles to run a pretend dirt race. Cause them people in the suit and ties are Synthetic themselves and pleasured most by depriving the people.

I love Bristol on dirt. I don't know if I can watch another asphalt race at Bristol now.

While we wait, NASCAR Raceday is back , John Roberts, Kenny Wallace, guests, Marcus Smith, Corey LaJoie , Jonathan Davenport, 4 Ever Harvick, C Bell, Kyle Larson, A Dillon.

When even one of the most successful "dirt guys" says Cup shouldn't be on dirt. It is definitely worth listening to.. To play devil's advocate here, while I'm in no way advocating for a return to the pre-2021 schedule, is diversity just for the sake of diversity really a good thing?

For example, Langhorne Speedway was unique in it's day, but it was also a death trap. Should we have a true circle track on the schedule like Langhorne was, due to adding "diversity" too?

I'm even bashing dirt racing here, if like you dirt racing, just watch WoO instead. You'll see a much better show there than you will tonight. Hell, even ARCA's dirt races usually suck

The track was awesome, he had a lot of fun and he is on the pole...yet he doesn't think they should be racing on dirt. I would like to hear a reason why.
