My 97 year old grandmother fell and fractured her hip last week. They did surgery to put screws in. They had her on her feet the next morning.Starting physical therapy (tomorrow) less than 3 days after the incident seems wild to me. Not even sure what you'd be able to or asked to do.
Glad that they got her on feet as soon as possibile. IMO, there are very few things for the elderly that will extend the life more than remaining mobile. My 97 year old grandmother fell and fractured her hip last week. They did surgery to put screws in. They had her on her feet the next morning.
But has she been in a racecar yet?My 97 year old grandmother fell and fractured her hip last week. They did surgery to put screws in. They had her on her feet the next morning.
Both her and my grandfather who will be 99 in September are hoping to make it there.Glad that they got her on feet as soon as possibile. IMO, there are very few things for the elderly that will extend the life more than remaining mobile.
Hopefully we can celebrate her 100th on an RF thread when it happens.
Not a hint of bitterness in that post at allAnother thing that is so stupid about this is that this guy himself said that he sold sponsorship by running in the minor leagues. If you are an owner, and you have sold inventory based on a driver, and that driver becomes unavailable, you no longer have inventory sold. Now, you have a business problem. Maybe we should save money by having spec drivers, and let the engineers develop the cars to their fullest. That way, our drivers could run the streets without constraint....but then there would be that problem drivers getting paid less. The very sport that Kyle feels potentially oppresses drivers is the very sport that creates the opportunity for Chase to be in Colorado "carving it up." Hush, and drive the car.

They start that quick nowadays.Starting physical therapy (tomorrow) less than 3 days after the incident seems wild to me. Not even sure what you'd be able to or asked to do.
Yep. My Wife had total knee replacement in the morning and they had her walking in the afternoon. Activity and PT keep the limb from tightening up which can delay recovery. My DIL broke her tib and fib last year and couldn't put weight on her leg for 8 weeks. Her's was a long recovery (6+ months). They start that quick nowadays.
Unlike Kyle Busch in 2015 though, Chase is gonna miss out on some stage points by missing multiple races.Playoff waiver incoming
But he doesn’t have to finish in the top 30 or whatever in points either.Unlike Kyle Busch in 2015 though, Chase is gonna miss out on some stage points by missing multiple races.
Apparently anything that isn't illegal or 'conduct unbecoming' merits a waiver. As long as he doesn't get a waiver, I'm fine with him doing whatever he wants in his free time. I just don't think a snowboarding accident is deserving of a waiver, but that's just my two cents...
It deserves a waiver, others have gotten waivers for off track things such as this, you can't make it different now.As long as he doesn't get a waiver, I'm fine with him doing whatever he wants in his free time. Oh I think he definitely still makes the playoffs, but will miss out on some stage points and also the bonus points given out at the end of the regular season. Puts him at a disadvantage, but not an insurmountable one.But he doesn’t have to finish in the top 30 or whatever in points either.
He gets that waiver and all he has to do is win. He may be in a hole in the playoffs, but he’ll be there. And that hole doesn’t matter if he wins races in the playoffs.
I would gladly accept house arrest in the houses those guys live in....but, no, they want to live.Rev's let's have them under house arrest and wearing this.

Yes.Vendetta much
The NAPA execs aren't going to be very happy when they come to the track expecting Chase and they get Josh Berry...who might call his shot, and promise them a top 15. Wohooo. The money these guys get gives them access to things that most will never have. Nothing wrong with reining them in IMO until they retire at 40 ****** years old.TRD and the Rev coach would point to this accident as reasons to not allow racers to do anything but NASCAR
Yeah Stewart got one when he had his sand buggy accidentOther than Covid?

I still don't think there should be waivers nor should there be a rule about having to run every race.
If NASCAR's worried about someone winning a race and only running part-time, put some other rules in place (have to run 60% of the races, or have to finish in the top-25 in points). NASCAR's other worry is the most popular driver missing a bunch of races ... which, here we are!
This hypothetical scenario where everyone's just gonna skip a bunch of races is just that, hypothetical. Stage points are too important and these drivers still try to get every stage win and stage point and playoff point they can.
Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon didn't skip the final handful of races of the season after they already locked up their championships. Dale Earnhardt didn't ride around at Rockingham in 1994 when he already clinched the title.
This is just such a dumb rule.
then make it two wins for auto bid to playoffs
for those with 1 win you have to be in top 15 for auto bid to playoffs
Yeah, I don't even know how this is a discussion. I'm all for drivers doing whatever they want in their free time. Snowboarding, basketball, dirt racing, surfing...go running with the bulls for all I care. But you're an adult who is highly paid to drive a race car. Big money comes with big responsibilities. You are in control of your own decisions. And decisions sometimes have consequences, like it or not. That's how life works! It's not always fair. So if you get hurt doing something else you love, and can't race...man, that sucks! No playoffs, and no paycheck! How unfortunate. As long as he doesn't get a waiver, I'm fine with him doing whatever he wants in his free time. I just don't think a snowboarding accident is deserving of a waiver, but that's just my two cents...
Sponsors alone will see that the driver has his butt in the car as often as possible. This hypothetical scenario where everyone's just gonna skip a bunch of races is just that, hypothetical.
