Chicago Bonehead

NBC for starting the race so late again after last year.

2nd Reddick for driving into the wall he was going to get there before that
 
A suspension would be ridiculous ^

Bonehead goes to the 20/54 team for giving the race away for no reason.

NASCAR takes history into consideration. Bubba has too many incidents, and social media will be awful. We know NASCAR reacts to social media too.

Hocevar should’ve been suspended last week as well IMO.

NASCAR needs to stop allowing this ****.
 
I'm just not sure if it will be worthy of one. I even said last week that Carson would be saved from one, and was right on that. We'll see how this plays out.

The wets are a better tire than they gave it credit for. Hamlin with at least two trips into the tires and Bubba I'd add to the list also. Bubba with a Bowman Gray move on national TV is a bad look for the sport when all eyes were on Bowman.
 
I still can't move past the decision for Bell and Reddick to pit
 
NBC start time and NASCAR that keeps allowing this because the checks cash. Bubba Wallace a close close second

I didn't like the call, but it wasn't a horrid call....was close at the end....one yellow away from a great call.

That made the race move up a notch. Ya didn't know if it was going to work out or not. Great entertainment. Bell was coming until he got caught up and then here came Reddick.

No, but only an idiot doesn't realize it's a possibility and does absolutely nothing to take it into consideration. What happens if the race is a total washout well short of half way? Are you going to tie up downtown Chicago for another day? If ANY race on the schedule warrants an early start, it's THIS one. Sadly, an exciting finish only means that NBC and NASCAR will feel justified for their shortsightedness. It takes an off the charts disaster for that bunch to learn anything.

There were scheduled events all day starting at 9:00 Sunday when the gates opened. Keith Urban along with other groups played Sunday along with Monster FMX, Food and drink vendors for the crowds along with the race. Many things at play besides a race. The City and Nascar made out like bandits.

Was ANY of that more important than getting the race in? Sounds like a case of misplaced priorities.

Freaking unreal. It was a complete failure....until the very end....and Reddick was unstoppable.....until he stopped himself. It was a great call--even though I didn't like it at the time....good thing I am not a crew chief.

That’s very apparent with how many weather related issues these races have run into. No one is saying they can control the weather here however extending your window for error with earlier start times can be.

Then they run it early and people complain about that. This was an event that happened to have a race at it and they needed to get the concerts in before the race because no one is going to attend a concert at 6pm on a Sunday.

And what time did NBC demand the Indycar race start, and which series is more important and draws more viewers? The TV networks are thick headed, they consistently fail to understand the realities of auto racing, they learned absolutely NOTHING from last year, and NASCAR is just as dumb because they have created an environment where clueless idiots get to make the decisions just because they write big checks. At some point SOMEBODY needs to act like an adult and say. "This really doesn't make any sense to do it this way", but we all know that's NOT going to happen.

But they won't stay for the concerts??????? Look, I'm all for this total entertainment weekend, it probably needs to happen a lot more and to a greater extent than it does, but let's not forget the ONE reason the event is happening at all, and the LEAST flexible in terms of timing and logistics.
