How much faster are the cars compared to 25 years ago? Are the drivers' reaction speeds fast enough to compensate?

It's all the same. The biggest difference is the safety of the cars.

When was the last time you heard Halifax Medical Center mentioned? There was a time you couldn't watch a Daytona weekend without hearing one driver being transported to it. Thinking about it, there was time when I could name 50% of the local NASCAR hospitals. Carraway (spelling) was another popular one back in the day.
