Chase was disappointed when he asked Alan how long the rest of the planned runs were compared to that last one before caution and Alan said they’d be about 25 shorter. He was a quarter second a lap faster at the end.

But then Larson stretched back out to about 0.9.

Chase may be a smidge better on the long haul but they look pretty even to me on the leaderboard.

Larson is unreal on restarts today. He’s .15 a lap quicker for first 30 laps

Larson is better until traffic. End of long run 9 is way better, but 5 builds up enough gap when he’s better that I think he’ll be ok.

I think Chase is going to let the laps keep ticking and his car will keep coming to him the longer the run is. This will be a good test to see how they compare to the #5 on a longer run.

He certainly will not be getting by the 5 on a short run.

Why is the #18 car even out there? It’s more of a rolling chicane than a RWR car and is bound to cause a yellow when it finally blows.

It looks like they made the smart decision to stay out and count laps.

I thought they said that it cut the tire and the brake ducting, don’t know if they could repair the hoses to cool brakes.

He’s faster but he’s still P31 down 7 laps. Everyone behind him is not a threat. Still just pointless laps unless a number of cars DNF towards the end.

Its a nice change, kinda but I would find someone who actually knows what the drivers look like. Did you see the beard on Ricky Stenhouse? At least, I think it was Ricky Stenhouse.

Yeah, I stand by that. 5 is still faster than the 9 deep into the run in open track, but Chase seems like he can role through traffic better.

It may come down to that. I think we end today with 4 different HMS winners. I just have a feeling Larson will miss it a bit at the end in traffic.

HMS looks good though.
