He had an opening to the garage before his stall, don’t think that counts.Did hamlin not drive through too many stalls?

This is not normal or in any way OK.
Some of our resident Chase fans have been panicking for two months yet Chase has never gotten close to being eliminated.Chase fans, I think your guy is in a good place? It’s an achievement to make it to the Championship race, once you do anything can happen. I wouldn’t count out the 9 yet
Except for Dega, the playoffs have been a miserable slog for 9 fans. Some of our resident Chase fans have been panicking for two months yet Chase has never gotten close to being eliminated.

Well if you think I'm comfortable with the thin margin he has going to Martinsville, you would be wrong. I keep thinking of the spring race. Led much of the race, got passed for the lead and was never seen again. If he ever loses track position for ANY reason, (assuming he ever has it) it's likely game over. Some of our resident Chase fans have been panicking for two months yet Chase has never gotten close to being eliminated
What a ****** joke.

“It really started happening – it was actually Darlington of 2020, that first race back after quarantine. We drink like a case of White Claw every day for like six weeks. We had nothing to do, so we just go hang out at a different person’s house every day and play beer pong and drink a case of White Claw, and I don’t know if the seltzers burned a hole in my stomach, but I haven’t been the same.”Sad to be under duress after multiple races at such a young age...
Maybe a regimen of health discipline is in order...
Anyone could do it back in the day when amphetamines were commonly used.Dude is gonna learn he cant party all night then run a race. He's not Tim Richmond
Yes. The 48 Cup car is in the background. This was after the Cup race? I’ve been wondering how well he’s going to hold up full time next year.
I know people who could do it and they damn sure werent on any drugAnyone could do it back in the day when amphetamines were commonly used.
Is he still drinking?“It really started happening – it was actually Darlington of 2020, that first race back after quarantine. We drink like a case of White Claw every day for like six weeks. Tyler Reddick had the same issues with drinking heavily, to the point where he would attend meetings with GM engineers still visibly intoxicated. At the end of races, he’s driving the cars in that condition. I wonder about his physical driver inputs and his decision making processes while he’s struggling in that manner.
You’d think the sanctioning body would get out in front of this ... before he hurts himself or someone else. HMS / JRM have lots of resources available for driver wellness. Presumably there isn’t sufficient concern on that front. Confusing.
I’m not gonna say Noah parties as I’m not speculating about his personal life, but if he hopes to maximize his talent in Cup......I’d say a personal chef, gym time, Proper Hydration and maintaining a rigorous workout routine would be some positive first steps. Not everyone is Tony Stewart.

I'm with you on this. I don't think this is simply poor decision making on Noah's part either. I would completely guess that it is something medical, and I should hope that his team should require a physician's clearance to race again. From my recliner, Noah *looks* sorta pudgy and soft, and his post-race physical distress seems to fit that, but I think the issue *could be* completely unrelated. I recall that Noah is a long-time client of Josh Wise's fitness, training, and preparation program (and the Google machine just confirmed it). I would hope - and expect - that he is working with medical people to diagnose the cause, but who knows?
So I'd pump the brakes on speculation, but I do agree with @aunty dive that NASCAR should be proactive in getting out in front of whatever the issue might be. Just my opinion.
If he makes it as you say he will, he has a 1 in 4 chance. Thats pretty good oddsWhile Chase Elliott likely makes it to the finale, I think the chances of him winning it all this year are nonexistent at this point.
Chase Elliott has an average finish of 17.4 in these playoffs.
Since 2004, the three worst finishes over the final 10 races amongst champions are:
2019 Kyle Busch: 11.0
2006 Jimmie Johnson: 10.8
201 Jimmie Johnson: 10.6
The average finish of all champions for 2014 onward is 8.45, with 11.0 being the worst.
Elliott has an average finish of 17.4. Elliott wins another championship these next 5 years.
But this year? It's not happening, imo. And if it does, it's a massive anomaly.

Elliott & his team are probably saving their best for last.If he makes it as you say he will, he has a 1 in 4 chance. Thats pretty good odds
I don't think so. Their intermediate program has been off all year, and their strengths have been short tracks and road courses. I genuinely believe that what they have on the intermediate is what they have.Elliott & his team are probably saving their best for last.
It only takes one good race @ Phoenix -- anything can happen.
The thought of an unhealthy Gragson may be even scarier. The thought of a healthy Gragson is pretty scary.
I get your point. He needs to get that fixed asap. The thought of an unhealthy Gragson may be even scarier.
Just a trip to the infield care center for 2 bags of fluids before the race and he will be good to go, and stay away from Talladega blvd.I get your point. He needs to get that fixed asap.
I don't think they're saving anything. The radio chatter at Vegas and Homestead was very down and frustrated. Chase sounded like years 1 and 2 Chase, beating himself up and very down. "I don't know what to tell you the car needs because I can't figure out how the **** to drive it." Lots of Alan giving him tips based on Larson's SMT data. Alan had to remind him multiple times to stay positive and eyes forward. They're truly in a funk. He had better hope to qualify front row at Martinsville because there will be no passing if spring race is any indicator.Elliott & his team are probably saving their best for last.

Obviously, they’ve been following the r_f race threads. The radio chatter at Vegas and Homestead was very down and frustrated.
"Chase, Doc is down again and posting about how we suck. Dig harder."Obviously, they’ve been following the r_f race threads.
He's a bit too much. They don't have any speed on intermediates right now and Homestead wasn't a terrible race. But I think Chase is a lot like MTJ. Great when the car is dialed in, but when it isn't, he's limited by the car, and can't figure out how to gain a tenth or two.I don't think they're saving anything. still salty Larson is out. It was lining up for him to at least have a pretty good attempt at back to back. I still think the 22 is/was going to be a problem for the Championship 4 even if Larson had made it. Would have been fun to see, but you know..... !!!PLAYOFFS!!!!He's a bit too much. I think that without Larson falling out of his seat that the Roval, going back to back would be a solid bet at this point, but luckily, the forum will be spared of that.
Joey is the guy to beat, imo.

I agree that Martinsville and Phoenix are likely to be track position races. I don't think there is a clear favorite for the championship right now, still wouldn't bet against Chase.Well if you think I'm comfortable with the thin margin he has going to Martinsville, you would be wrong. He has had a sort of swagger this year that we haven't seen in a few years, imo. And a confident Logano may be the most dangerous driver in the sport. Larson is my guy, but I'd trust Mr. Logano more in the clutch - there's a palpable hunger there that not a lot of guys have had since JJ.still salty Larson is out.
