Blaney was extra conservative, and Larson was a bit more aggressive. On both of them.

I think Blaney was deliberately conservative

And what if that stuff doesn't break? Then there's essentially no penalty for screwing up. Which is what we see when they plant them in the wall over and over.

Oh well, I love picking on the 5 but I just so happened to be lucky enough to turn the race on for the first time today to see it. I had checked running an hour ago and saw the 9 put to lunch again so no interest. Was running an iRacing league practice for Martinsville instead. 🤷‍♂️😔

I just so happened to turn race on for first time and that happened. Had to get a jab in because Lord knows I have NOTHING to gloat about. 🤣😭
 
If Larson could ever figure out the 7 inches between his ears he’d probably have Jimmie Johnson level dominance or better.

Had to come in and laugh

One time I was going downhill coming to a red light in my 94 Taurus and smoked the tires through an intersection that was a red light literally in front of a cop that was traveling through the intersection. Reminded me of what happened to me.

I can come poke at larson destroying some barrels while the a&#hole I cheer for sits in 28th or whatever. Lol

I try to remember these guys are in high-pressure, high intensity environments and usually give them a pass on the radio comms but Truex has been doing this since his MWR days. Great driver who I respect but he’s always been more of a ninny on the radio than most.
 
5 has been entering like that all race, the entire race..I've been riding his onboard and they all looked like that, was definitely going to make it. Blaney was conservative and consistent and probably saw it coming. It's not a *fault* of Blaney's lol

Larson was a lot faster than the 12, at that point, there's no need to NOT just take it smooth there. Your pit crew is faster, your car is faster, A LOT faster on the shorter run.

Smarter thing to do would have been to just ease it, and match the 12's pit road entry once it was clear his entry was slower. No need to make it up there.

Probably the luxury of being locked in already. But man. Build good habits!

I just told my buddy this, Larson has been the king of screwing himself for years. Sure he’s won a lot of races but if he didn’t beat himself so often he’d be better than Johnson IMO

This is the biggest difference between him and Byron, IMO.

What Byron lacks in talent, which isn't much, he more than makes up for in racecraft and making good decisions.

Larson is his own worst enemy sometimes.

I root for Larson and that was Not on Blaney. Larson was just to agressive plane and simple.
