This summer stretch Chase Elliott has put together is one of the best in the history of NASCAR. When's the last time he's finished worse than second or third?
 
Elliott wasn't really matching the 8s lap time. I think those guys 2-5 are ready to just take a strong points day, tbh

Because he probably had no idea what had happened, so he wouldn't have had any answers to the interviewers questions about what went wrong. Plus, just to stir drama, they would have asked "Do you expect any payback from Ty later down the road?"

It's similar to Tony Stewart's summer stretch in 2005.

Tony had 13 straight top 10s in the summer, including 4 wins and 10 top 5s.

Gap when Elliot moves into P2. 3.4 seconds back. Few laps later, 3.65.

Sorry. That's 5 wins, 10 top 5s, in a 13 race stretch of 13 straight top 10s. Avg finish of 3.4

Lane choice for everyone besides Reddick is gonna be roulette here and hope you get thru turn 1 clean
