Cup RACE thread --- Las Vegas

Damn, two of my best race fantasy league drivers out in one fell swoop.

Nah, I am with ya, I like that the players are getting rewarded for their effort in the first 26 races with extra points, it makes the lottery a little bit more fair to the drivers that should be at the top .

The playoff points make it a little bit more legit of a system...the work during the regular season pays off.
 
Even though I want a return to a traditional full season championship, it's not gonna happen, I have a better idea for the Playoffs, get rid of win and you're in, cut the field down to top 10 in points, and cut the rounds,
 
That’s going to cost Harvick some money. His new Emoji should be piece of crap tires

Or, what if the final 10 races are made up of only race winners?, no in on points?
 
I wish NASCAR would allow other tire makers like Bridgestone, Firestone, Continental, Pirelli, Dunlop, or Michelin into the sport. Goodyear has had a lot of issues over the years.
 
Man, Kez is really wanting to win 3 in a row it seems.
 
I do feel like the playoffs should be more inclusive. Maybe, cut it down to 10 drivers and only one or two eliminations. Perhaps you take the highest eight winners and then the two highest on points.

10 drivers.
Eliminations after each set of four races (3 drivers each).
Then just run the final two races with the four guys left.
 
If Jimmie wins the Championship this year, I hope that's the end of this playoff crap, oh who am I kidding, NASCAR will just replace it with the Clobber for the Cup, a demolition derby

If anything would do it that'd be it, every major Chase/Playoff change has come after a Jimmie Johnson championship.

Johnson had exactly two chances at winning under the old format: his rookie season, and his second year, when he finished second to Matt Kenseth's ironman consistency campaign that provoked them to change the format.
 
Why exactly was this race not run at night, it's way too hot in Las Vegas this time of year to get a crowd in the day time, and is dangerously unsafe for the drivers and fans

Let's concentrate on the race, please.
Afterward we can trash the Chase and the hot weather, and whatever.
