Cup RACE thread --- Phoenix

If cars just bumping each other counts as “like a short track”, sure.

I think NASCAR has been so disenfranchised with actual short tracks, they are just calling the shorter tracks on the schedule as “short tracks”.

No thanks. This is nothing like Martinsville, Bristol, or Darlington.

"Its big enough for aerodynamics to play a minor role, but small enough to be physical and beat and bang."

Its less than a mile, therefore technically IT IS a short track. Doesn't really matter, the racing has been solid all day.

That Monster Race Break logo is so fresh it has gnats.

Ok, that overhead shot showing the 4 and 11 passing the 18 was pretty cool

Pretty sure Gordon’s first lap lead was the 93 Daytona 500. Had a HELL of a piece and if he hadnt of decided to go with Dale, he had a chance to win.

42 is back to 20th!?

Elliott is coming on through, Blaney is struggling. 2 tires is the answer with a yellow within 20 laps of the finish.

Menard was as emotional during the interview as "The Darling Boys" on the Andy Griffin show

My natural instinct is to follow the #24 Jeff Gordon car. I've got to remind myself to resist the urge. It's William Byron driving, not Jeff Gordon.
If I were him, Id be asking for a number change too, he is always going to be overshadowed by Jeff in that car.

Hope Harv doesn’t use up His stuff trying to get by ol Denny

lead change coming. get ready for Jardiance you old *****

Didn’t Axalta want to be back on the 24 car? Thought I read that

Denny needs the slightest tap.
