Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

Unfiltered Jr , "should have been running like this all year" hope he wins Dega

Truex was brought into cup with a dying DEI team. Went to a subpar MWR where he showed signs of speed (win at a rc, should've won at Kansas a time or 2, etc). Finally has a breakout season and has been steamrolling ever since.

I'm not a Truex fan but you have to respect him.

It was good enough equipment that Clint Bowyer almost won a title in it.
Ryan Newman also almost won one a few years ago. Things happen sometimes. I don't know, drivers click well in different places with different teams etc. I just don't buy into this whole MTJ has to be cheating bs people want to spread around.

He went to MWR when they also picked up Rodney Childers. They were the team to beat for 2 or 3 years between the 15, 55, and 56

Larson might've won on a non two mile track, but it's like a mini Michigan so...

That's a fair point, but different cars etc all play into that.
I'm not going to get into a Toyotathon argument, concessions have been made. Other manufacturers have had things changed that made them slower. It is what it is. IMO Larson is driving the **** out of a slower car

Truex shouldn't touch the trophy like they do in the NHL until they get The Cup

That's two different playoff configurations. Clint had multiple wins that year. I don't think MTJ is cheating, but I think it's obvious Cole Pearn is the more important part of that duo.

Didn't mean Toyota but okay. I meant car as in team. Some drivers don't do much at one team, move to another and things click for them. Sometimes being the#1 driver at a team surely helps out.

I just want the cheesy group playoff photo they do every year since the Chase was created

Well @nascar hope your proud. Threw another bs caution and almost killed someone. Unbeliveable. Embarrassing.

She's not actually wrong in that it was an unnecessary entertainment caution, there's nothing wrong with her stating that bluntly. She probably should accept that her man is a performer in a circus, because it's not going to end and there is only more "BS" to come.

Well guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Pearn surely is helping but I think MTJ is one hell of a driver no matter what others think.

Almost killed somebody is a bit hyperbolic. If her man was the beneficiary of the caution and it was somebody else turned into the fence I'm sure she'd be pretty quiet. It's emotional, I get it, I just find the statement funny.

You are right, she is not wrong, but saying NASCAR almost killed someone was going to far.

I think of at least 5 races Truex should have won driving for MWR. Mark Martin came close once or twice too. For a couple years, MWR was solid, until Waltrip decided to screw everything up
