Listening to Denny each week, no wonder he gets along with MJ

I caught the Scott Dixon episode. I'm a fan of Dixon and found it interesting how he got started. Jr likes to find out how drivers get started but he has a hard time understanding how foreign drivers do it. Dixon (like Palou) started living on their own at an early age so they could be where the racing was. Dixon likes all kinds of racing and would like to try a NASCAR. Jr suggested trying a road course but Dixon wants to try a short track. Dixon told Ganassi that he pays him to do sponsor events - he races for free (I was amused by that, I think many drivers think like that).

Probably the best interview yet on his podcast. Unreal. I Know we have a thread on DJD but its buried somewhere so move this if need be. Marlin Yoder, enjoy

Hendrick Motorsports will NOT appeal Alex Bowman's penalty. The Roval’s new turn 7 was a success. The fans would like to have the Charlotte Oval back in the Playoffs. Dale's problem with track limits. NASCAR Cup Playoffs Round of 8 preview. Updates to the Damage Vehicle Policy. Jr.'s First Thoughts About The NASCAR Lawsuit. Overhauling NASCAR’s race control process. Having To Pass A Contact Lens Test?

Probably going to announce on his podcast today, but good god it’s glorious

I took a listen to this podcast for the first time. I'm not sure what I expected but I gave up after ten minutes or so. I guess I'm used to podcasts that are more planned, scripted, or tightly edited. One point that did annoy me was that Jr. didn't tell me who the other guy was he was talking to. Not exactly new-user friendly. Otherwise, it felt like one of those gabfests on the sports networks. That's probably what they're going for but I don't enjoy those either. But hey, different strokes and all that.

I didn't listen to this one but have enjoyed Dale Jr. in the past. I saw some of this Cleetus character on tv last weekend and wasn't impressed. Nothing against the guy but I think he should be on stage doing stand-up comedy.

As you said, "different strokes and all that".

You might enjoy this episode as Jr speaks with Garrett, not his Cleetus character. There's a moment near the end where Jr shows appreciation for the "Do It For Dale" catch phrase and his worries about Sr one day being forgotten.

I listened to a decent chunk of the Cleetus interview; skipped over anything that was about the channel or about operating in social media because I find any discussion of the algorithm extremely boring. Generally was what I expected because I already know the channel and the content. He's gonna run Daytona and Talladega and isn't that interested in the other tracks because they're fast and he gets to run wide open. Also at Daytona the car just ran straight and in spite of not even as much as watching a NASCAR race in 5 years he's able to rank on people like Amber Balcaen who've posed as professional racing drivers on track for years. I guess building a floating landing strip using pontoon boats is the best ladder for entry to super speedway racing. Who knew?
