That's the word on the Internet. She will run a full Nationwide schedule in 2012 for JR Motorsports and run a few Cup races for Stewart-Haas as well. Let the overkill begin.

Exactly, old news man. I was saying this months ago. I think a lot of people had a good idea last year that this year would be her last year in Indycar. She will do a one-off in the Indy 500 though.

Nascar needs something to help their sinking attendance and ratings.

Guess this will generate some interest.

This was the rumor going around the garages at the Indy 500.:)

Does anyone have a link to the press release?

Nothing is finalized, just contracts being discussed, negotiated, and finalized. Like I said, we all knew it was going to happen. I spoke to her in 2009 a couple times and we talked about NASCAR.

Dont worry, when it's "officially" announced, you wont have to search for a link, it will be all over the place...internet, radio, tv, paper, etc...LOL

It certainly will. I think she'll surprise a lot of people.

So I guess what you are saying is that there's nothing new. The first post in the thread seemed to indicate that this was a 'done deal'.

Not "officially" done but unofficially yes. Also as I said, she will have a one-off at the Indy 500 as well.

You can bet that if and when it happens there will be plenty of air time for her and her sponsors and a mice will always be in her face

Nascrap need this

Excerpt from AP article: There's no talk of Danica Patrick, who is in the final stages of putting together her full-time NASCAR plan. Patrick is apparently going to run a full Nationwide schedule with JR Motorsports, and run a limited Sprint Cup schedule with Tony Stewart in preparation for an eventual full Cup schedule. Her defection from IndyCar will be a monstrous coup for NASCAR, but the spotlight is instead stuck on Edwards.(ChicagoTribune.com)(8-2-2011)

And probably a few "Billboards" spread out across the country.:)

Saw this posted elsewhere.....

Starting in 2012 all ESPN Nationwide broadcasts to utilize 76 cameras, likely all pointed at Danica. :D

Thats quite funny...lol;)

NASCAR doesnt need Danica as bad as Indycar does. I would prefer her to stay in Indycar as well as that series would too.

Yeah Indycar was wanting her to stay considering 2012 was going to be the year they finally run the new cars and there not all going to be running Honda's. I wish her the best but I dont want to see another Hornish or Franchitti type Nascar career.

Can you imagine ESPN if Danica and Travis Pastrana are in the same race?

A buddy of mine tweeted the exact same comment earlier. I told him it would be worse than Fox's lovefest with Ky. Busch and Junior.

Guess the press is going to have to boost up Simona de Silvestro, Ana Beatriz, and Pippa Mann. Maybe some glamour or fitness magazine should do a spread on the women of IndyCar. Doll the ladies up like they did Ellen DeGeneres. Get them in bikinis lake Sports illustrated did Danica.

Wait a minute. Did you say "Doll them up like Ellen DeGeneres?" Whaaat?

Patrick close to signing deal to run NASCAR in 2012: Danica Patrick is in the final stages of putting together her full-time NASCAR plan. Patrick is apparently going to run a full Nationwide schedule with JR Motorsports [in 2012], and run a limited Sprint Cup schedule with Tony Stewart in preparation for an eventual full Cup schedule.(ESPN/Associated Press)(8-2-2011)

Heck if she does sign and come over I wouldn't be shocked if she was to get a win. I think she could do it honestly. She's done good in the races she's ran at least I think so(i'd have to ask Spike lol) and she'd be in a good car that can win races. I'd love to see her get in there and do good and up front going for wins and getting top 10's and top 5's :)

I hope she does well. I was listening to her radio last March at LVMS, she was following instructions very well. She just needs more seat time and more input from driver's like Tony Stewart. She was pretty impressive in her last plate race.

She was pretty impressive in that race I was hoping she could had pulled off the win. I mean if she did you'd have people saying its only cause it was a good car and a plate race but who'd care honestly.

If she was to focus full time in the Nationwide Series I'd say she'd win a race in 2012.
