Still doesn't change the fact he has two wins and one of them he had to wreck his teammate(Johnson) and Dale Jr to win it. HMS at the time was the top team and he couldn't win with then(yes jr can't either saying myself before you can) But okay fine if him being rushed up is a reason why does Joey get all the hate? He didn't even get to win a championship before he got pulled on up. Also being rushed? Look at Kevin he was a rookie in Busch and still did good in Cup the same year hell took him 3 races to win. Anything you toss at me I can toss something right back.

I actually posted this in a thread a few weeks ago, I gave Logano a shot, I wanted to root for the kid and I did for awhile but I just can't do it. He really just rubs me the wrong way.

I can see where he might but hey at least he isn't the worst behaved person at Gibbs right? Haha but nah I can see where some people might not like him.

I haven't given up on him though. It's just taking a long time for his balls to drop.

I like Vickers and I like Joey too. I even like Paul "Daddy's Money" Menard when he's not wrecking people (and he has been much better about not doing that this year). NASCAR will always be filled with underachievers. Auto Racing in general will be. Hell, not everyone can be Jimmie-Chad or Big Daddy or King Richard. Danica will be another in a long line of drivers who hang around the top 10 or top 15 because of the caliber of their equipment, but who will never become a dominant force.

Miss Thang will be considered a success if she can finish in the Top 10 in points. If she makes it to the Top 5, all the better.

But it doesn't really matter how well (or how poorly) she runs. She will still have people buying her merch!

I pretty much agree with this. Expect I'd go as far as to say she'll win a NW race
 
Only on this forum can a conversation about Danica going full time in NNS lead to a rant about Brian Vickers and Joey Logano LOL

Anyway, I too think Danica will win a race or two before it is all said and done. I mean look at the cup series this year and the list of first time winners....

I hope you're kidding. Danica is a great driver? Really? How many races has she won exactly? And during that same time frame how many wins did her team mates get? She's not great, she's average.

She is going to get her stint in Nationwide and may even have a little success. Then she is going to move to NASCAR and will be over hyped to the max and will have little to no success there. After about a year or three of this nonsense sponsors are going to get tired of it and drop her like a bad habit. She will come crawling back to the IRL (if it still exists) looking for a ride.

If her popularity holds out, sponsors won't be a problem regardless of success...ask Junior...

She's ran well in her Nationwide races this year. I think once she gets to running every single week and getting way more use to that car I'll not be surprised if she can get a win or two next season

She has a few things going in her favor:
1.) She'll be the only girl in the Nationwide and eventually Cup Series'
2.) She'll be the fastest girl in the Nationwide and eventually Cup Series'
3.) She's already an established product spokesperson
4.) She'll have Tony Stewart, Dale Jr., and all of the people from those two organizations to lean on for advice and mentoring.

My impression of NASCAR fans (maybe I'm wrong) is they give junior a free pass because he's an Earnhardt. Danica is an outsider and she will not have that magic free pass with the fans no matter how sexy she is.

Oh sure Nationwide no problem. She'll get some wins, Mr. France will see to it. But the gloves will be off in the Cup series. I think we've already seen the best she can do in those cars. This is as good as it's going to get.

DanicaFan is going to KILL me for saying this but she has not improved much in the IRL over 6 or so years. The best she's done in a series that typically has less 1/2 to 1/3 the starting grids as NASCAR is 5th and usually flounders around somewhere in the lower top 10. This year she slid all the way down to 12th.

How can Brian France do anything? Don't you think if he can help anyone win a race in anyway shape or form Jr would win more and be a champion by now in the Cup? I mean really I don't get how he or anyone can make sure she wins :confused:

But no I can see her winning a race I'm not gonna say its a sure thing she's going to win but if she was to win I wouldn't be shocked. I think she can honestly do it cause she's shown she can run good of her races this year she only has had two not so great finishes. Which is Bristol and Montreal. She had a 4th at Vegas

Women were flying high performance combat aircraft including the very "manual" early B-24's on long distance delivery flights all through WW2, and the Soviet Union had many very skilled combat pilots during The Big One. Those of you that doubt Ms. Patricks' ability to compete in a stock car race based strictly on her gender are doing her and others a great disservice.

No. That is not it at all for me. I am just get sick of her attitude and over-exposure as THE woman driver for the IRL. For many years when there have been plenty of other women, if given a ride as good as Danica's would have faired much better - but the aren't as hot at Danica.

No question that women are doing much more than in years past and they have the aptitude to continue progressing. This is not about gender or over-exposure or attitude or any of that crap.

My point is that Miss Thang has been a mid-pack (or worse) driver in IRL most of her career - in top-flight equipment. I don't see that changing once she gets to N'wide - and it's even less likely to change in CUP. And I really think that her diminutive size will prove to be a problem for her down the road.

Some people say that the cars all have power steering and air conditioning so what's the big deal? Well, 850HP on those narrow tires for 3.5 hours in a 140 degree oven with 42 other hungry drivers on track is a whole lotta work for full-grown men, let alone a woman who stands 5'2" and weighs in at what, 98 pounds?

With that being said, I wish her all the best! I think that she will be good for NASCAR. She will certainly bring lots of attention to the N'wide Series! And if she is fortunate enough to win, not only will Blaze88 eat my hat, but she will stand the sports world on it's ear!!

I think that most if not all the women that have attempted the IRL have ended up in lesser equipment because they don't have the talent Danica has. They never appealed to the top teams of the IRL. As for her performance this year in the IRL, I think running both Nascar and the Indy cars has effected her performance. It isn't easy switching back and forth, much easier to concentrate on one type of car. I'm not trying to make excuses for Danica, I just think she has a lot more talent than some of you are giving her credit for.

She'll do fine, she has tremendous desire, good talent and great car control. She'll be at an established team with great equipment, really good team mates, really good crew, a good sponsor and NASCAR will probably throw some calls her way.
As far as her physical stature the cars anymore are mostly about feel and concentration you dont want to "Horse them Around" and have you ever stood beside some of todays drivers like Gordon, Martin, John Andretti to name a few. I'd say there's a good number of them in the 5'-5'6" 130-150lb range.

Yeah, so am I. The more I think about it the less I care really. With the IRL switching from ABC to Vs for most of their races I have watched little to no IRL and am becoming very uninterested in the story lines there. As a result, I've turned more of my attention to Rolex, ALMS and F1. There is some serious talent in all of those series.
 
Let me state first that I like Danica and I hope that she does really well. I like her because she's hot, she has an attitude and she's busting through some big hurdles to do what she loves.

Danica's biggest hurdle will be the "boys club" mentality. These guys are NOT going to want to be beat by a chick. Not to say they want to be beat by anyone but being beat by a chick in a "guys sport" is not going to go over well.

Even on this board I suspect that many of the haters are biased because she is a chick in a man's world. At the very least, many are biased against any driver who does well. They root for the backmarkers and criticize those who excel. Some just ***** no matter what happens. Why wouldn't Danica fall into the same nonsense?

Remember that no matter how commercialized this sport is, it's still very much redneck in nature. Isn't she suppose to be barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen making a pie? :sarcasm:

Kyle Petty just said on NASCAR Race Day, "Danica has no business in the Cup series at this point." Isn't there a bit of irony in that since Kyle had no buisness in the Cup series..well.EVER! lol
