If they did the throwbacks more than one race a year, it would probably be too much.

But just once a year, at Darlington, is just right, imo.

Exactly, the infrequency makes it special. Kind of like a game 7 moment.

Yeah I still like the idea/effort but I think it's kind of lame when they don't have the actual sponsor. Seeing Mark Martin run that Valvoline scheme with Viagra as the sponsor years ago totally ruined it for me

Not me. You gotta understand the current sponsor paid big money to be on that car. They are giving up a lot allowing their marketing scheme to be changed to look like another company's. I give them a pass for that.

Still kinda sucks. I mean the best throwbacks have been the actual throwbacks both year. I mean yeah it's a reason it doesn't happen, but still can say it be cooler with the actual sponsor.
 
Yeah I like to find the car they modeled the new scheme after. Some are better than others, some look even better than back in the day and some are honorable mentions.
 
Isn't tomorrow Jr releasing his throwback scheme, thought I saw it on Twitter
 
I can't wait to see Danicas official one. I dont think her cart one was official
