Tires must be hard with long run capabilities Able to give up the fresh tire opton at the end of the run, or so Toyota thinks.
Or at least trying it out to see if it pays off for later race use.

Smart. Pit after lap 15 so you can make it to the end of stage 1 and make a run at those points
