Daytona Pre-Race Race Thread

Man, that must've been one helluva nap. I fell asleep, now it's dark and the race is one. And even weirder, it's still light here.

I hvae a crazy feeling Jeff Gordon will be upside down soon.

Nascar to give update about the weather/race at 4:00 Eastern.

Looking at the radar(assuming I'm looking at the right place) the weather is almost out of Daytona. Then it looks to be clear long enough to dry the track and then rain again.

I've also read that they've brought in extra drying equipment to decrease the time it takes get the track ready for racing.

They better hurry up and start this race.Mikey is going to be sitting in DW's lap if this goes on much longer.

Just read they would rather run Monday over tonight because of the Oscars.

Twitter: New data is in, concerned the speed of this system has slowed. If that is the case it could push racing to Tuesday. #NASCAR

Well at least I have tomorrow off. How much longer before they make it official?

Just showed track. Looks dry now. Maybe they can get a dozen our so laps in.

Yesterday there was a thread about how many pages the 500 race thread would go. So now I wonder how many pages the pre-race thread will go.

I'd think the new episode of Ax Men would have a bigger hit on ratings than the Oscars for NASCAR fans.

SPEED replayed all of the CUP Races last year. Does anyone know if that will be the case in 2012?

SPEED is owned by FOX so I would assume that they will carry the races...

We're movie watchers and always watch the Oscars. My family has been warned that, if it comes down to it, Daytona trumps Oscar.

They are really running out of the things to do, showing Robbie Gordon playing with his remote control car and Joey Loganos dog.

I'm looking at the radar and they could run this race now if they ran rain tires, maybe couldn't go 200mph but still could get it in.

The track would be bone dry in 50 laps, then they switch to slicks. Be careful, some people will rush in and accuse you of suggesting they race IN the rain.
