Any transgender people in our sport yet?
That might be the first pronoun win we all seek.
Sexism exists in the sport. No denying that. It's a case in point that the ones who say Deegan is only in Nascar because of her popularity when drivers like Long with potential tons of talent but didn't make it miss the point. Pages of pages prove it lol. It's very hard to attract sponsorship when there is so much push back. Sexism is alive and well. Deegan along with Danica are modern day leaders for women in Nascar. More will come and hopefully it will become easier for women to compete.
It has always been an uphill struggle for women to secure sponsorship in motorsports. I have worked around Tony Stewarts wife Leah from the time she drove a Jr dragster and I watched her work her way up from the ground floor busting her azz working on a racecar right alongside the male crewmembers until 1am or 2am. You can only imagine how many potential sponsors doors she knocked on and had the door shut in her face before she finally landed the sponsor that she could take to DSR where she got her start as a professional top fuel driver and finally met Tony Stewart where she now is his wife and co team owner...and I couldn't be happier for her. Some girls and guys have it much easier to get their start due to their famous father, but they still have to do something the sponsor likes to keep them renewing the contracts. Deegan definitely falls in the category of having a famous father that probably helped her get her foot in the door. Danica didn't, she had to find her sponsor on her own, and I have a lot of respect for her because of that. It's a case in point that the ones who say Deegan is only in Nascar because of her popularity when drivers like Long with potential tons of talent but didn't make it miss the point. Earnhardt fans grasping at any straw. There were some people in the 90s who swore that Jeff Gordon was the first gay driver
After reading Janet Guthrie's biography, things haven't changed a whole lot in Nascar to this point. It has always been an uphill struggle for women to secure sponsorship in motorsports. That happens on a daily basis downstairs.Earnhardt fans grasping at any straw.
Jeff Gordon clearly didn't have the Ghay, but he may have been a Metrosexual with those movie star looks, and he was also born in California. There were some people in the 90s who swore that Jeff Gordon was the first gay driver.
Toni Breidinger is who I was referencing there. She is legitimately a model. When I think of a Victoria's Secret model, Hailie Deegan doesn't come to mind. She is far from being ugly, but she isn't that good looking either. And her voice and laugh are atrocious. But she always shows a lot of great fun filled energy and she seems like she is a pretty decent girl in general that is a pretty good role model for younger girls. Actually, the fact that her performance isn't stellar but yet she still keeps her head up and in good spirits and doesn't give up is very good for the younger girls to see. IMO
Natalie Decker is also a very spiritual person that has blessed many on Instadamn.Toni Breidinger is who I was referencing there. She is legitimately a model.
Some people in the '90s swore the Titanic movie was real...There were some people in the 90s who swore that Jeff Gordon was the first gay driver.
Probably the same people thought both. Some people in the '90s swore the Titanic movie was real...
As long as the power steering holds out, I don't see the disadvantage.I believe that women are at a physical disadvantage in sports, in general, when it comes to competing with men.

The buck stopped short of the “competition director’s” desk. Funny how that works.

Yeah, it’s the crew chief’s fault
What's the end game here? Put her in a Rick Ware Cup car in two years? If they want backing from Ford, they have to keep Deegan at all costs.
Ford's past the point of no return with Hailie Deegan.
Well, that would give her a shot at the Double. What's the end game here? Put her in a Rick Ware Cup car in two years?
No such thing. When you're not getting a return on the investment, change your investing.Ford's past the point of no return with Hailie Deegan.

Double crashing?Well, that would give her a shot at the Double.
I'm pretty sure she's already accomplished that.Double crashing?
Imagine hauling that transporter all the way across the continent.Update - lowest points position of any full-time driver and 28th in a championship with 25 full-time drivers.
That's usually the way it works...so, maybe they are getting a return on their investment from all of the off-track work she does for her sponsors and Ford.No such thing. When you're not getting a return on the investment, change your investing.
Possibly. I was mainly addressing the 'point of no return' comment. Just because Ford has spent money on her doesn't mean they'll continue to do so. That money's gone, it's not coming back, and it doesn't look like future spending will result an on-track payoff. That's usually the way it works...so, maybe they are getting a return on their investment from all of the off-track work she does for her sponsors and Ford.
I read somewhere this morning or yesterday that he is starting to have 2nd thoughts and evaluating if he will continue with racing. Not a thing was said about Muniz not making the race. Hmm I wonder why. He doesn't have a half of a page.
And you know Hailie doesn’t, how?Probably because Harry and Zane have hairy legs.
Definitely wrong. I doubt he was the first. There were some people in the 90s who swore that Jeff Gordon was the first gay driver.
Because he doesn’t even run full time? Not a thing was said about Muniz not making the race. Hmm I wonder why. He doesn't have a half of a page.
Because no one defends them. Everyone knows Harrison Burton has been a bum at Wood Brothers, and Zane Smith is underperforming so far and everyone agrees. There has to be 2 sides to have an argument. Not a peep or a page about Zane Smith running dead last in Cup. Honorable mention, no pages though for young Harry in his third year, one position higher than Zane. I wonder why? Probably because Harry and Zane have hairy legs.
