I think it's disturbing that she's still experiencing her 15 minutes.

Personally, I was gratified to discover that I had no recollection of who she is, and that it took the article to refresh my memory. Hopefully Kurt will have my experience, but I doubt it.

Ha! I mean, it's a completely one sided piece. It would be pretty irresponsible for most outlets to publish it, but I guess it's on par with whatever their typical agenda is over there. There are many inaccuracies, from big (she ran to the police because Kurt hired people to threaten her) to small (she had to change her cell phone number....nope, it's still the same lol). I've never in my life seen someone "so affected & scared" do so much media outreach. It's very telling. (BTW the article conveniently forgot to mention all her national television appearances before the Daytona 500 when she was pointing a finger at NASCAR and demanding he be suspended. That might fly in the face of the narrative though, so why bring it up!) Poor reporter bought in hook, line and sinker, though I do give her a break, she wasn't the first and won't be the last.

This is the very last thing I'll say on the matter - there are many things the public doesn't know about the case that the investigators knew, and that NASCAR/his sponsors knew. The fact that no charges were filed, and he's currently in good standing with NASCAR are all you need to know about what really happened. There is no way on God's green earth, right at the time of Ray Rice, NASCAR would have reinstated a suspected abuser - especially a guy with as checkered a past as Kurt, if they even had the slightest doubt as to what did or didn't happen that night. But guess what...they knew her personally, had access to all the evidence, and he's still racing. End of story.

Patricia Driscoll did a dis-service to domestic violence victims everywhere. And she continues that dis-service with this sh!t about how her life was ruined because she came forward.

I had a family member go to jail because his separated wife accused him of domestic violence.Several years later she apologized to him.She was upset that he wouldn't take her back when he caught her cheating on him.He had moved on with new wife and they have 3 kids now.I told my son if girlfriend and him have fight's,meet her in public place to talk it out for both their sake.I can't imagine trying to date in today's environment.
  17. Someone like Driscoll is the worst of the worst as she feels there is one set of rules for her and a completely different set for other people. I firmly believe that the overwhelming majority of women that claim to have been abused truly have been but there special kinds like Driscoll who feel they are entitled to lie and cheat because of who they are. You can only hope that she is given a lengthy jail term but it will probably be a slap on the wrist and a brief visit to Club Fed.

The feds conviction rate isn’t what it once was. That said, I’m thinkin’ they’ll cut a deal on the two counts of wire fraud 'n drop the rest.

Ain’t gonna guess at a sentence. No tellin’ what’s there to dig up for the woman’s presentence report.

^^^^This....I don't know all the evidence that you are talking about but as a cop of 20 years in a fairly large city, if there is any shred of evidence; even the slightest, cops have to make an arrest and almost surely charges will be taken by the prosecutor. Always...it's the climate we live in.

I forgot about this lady, didn't someone call her an assassin? She would come home at night with blood on her clothes?

I remember her doing some shady things with that foundation, stealing money, taking advantage of people, etc.

With Kurt's past behavior problems, are you going to tell me you didn't think maybe she was telling the truth when the news first broke? I try to keep an open mind on this stuff either way, because I know things like this happen, but I also know that many men have been falsely accused. I thought NASCAR reacted in haste when they suspended him without letting the investigation play out further, but I know that in light of the Ray Rice incident, the pressure was really on them to "do the right thing" whatever the hell that is. The problem Kurt had is the same problem Tony Stewart has with the Kevin Ward incident. When you have a history of acting like a lunatic at times, you don't get the benefit of the doubt.

This sh!t is representative of how NASCAR has gone off of the rails in terms of force feeding the fanbase the "storylines" and driver narratives. If we would talk more about cars, we would talk less about the "athletes" who drive them, and we would get back to what makes this sport different, but because the media (and many if not most) fans have bought into the accessibility and driver storylines, we hang our hats on this kind of sh!t. I won't comment on the story because NOBODY knows the whole story, and to take sides in some form or fashion makes the poster look stupid at best-criminal at worst. Now, let's argue about spec motors and composite bodies, shall we?

It has always been about drivers in motorsports. How many know the different cars that AJ Foyt drove, or Mario Andretti or many others during their careers? Being a fan boi of Toyota's is one thing but when it clouds the way it is is another. And BTW this thread is about that lying thief Driscoll.

Look, I'm as big of a hardware guy as you will ever find, and much like you I am a manufacturer first, team second, driver third kind of guy, meaning that if you don't drive the right brand and do it for one of the teams I support, I'm probably not going to be a fan of yours. BUT, to act like this sport's focus on the drivers is something relatively new is just preposterous. NASCAR has been as much about the personalities as the equipment from DAY ONE. You don't get the legends of Fireball Roberts and the Golden Boy, the King, the Intimidator and the Wonder Boy without that being the case. From about 1964 to 2001, the entire sport was carried on the backs of two MEN, not two cars.

Lotsa stuff on this thread for sure. As far a Driscoll goes she is crook but unfortunately will likely get the Martha Stewart treatment. IDK about anyone pushing this kind of story or stories about drivers as I ignore it all unless I see it here.

Everything you said about it being about the drivers is correct, what you said about the sport being carried by 2 men from 64-2001 is ridiculous.
