How many people are like me right now and are majorly dreading a Johnson win? I lost some sleep the last time. Hope he runs out of gas!

I've heard that he's on hair-loss pills or something. chad's had a hair transplant. And I think that looks more like glare from the sun where his hairs flipped back than a bald spot.

Johnson is the best person to ever get behind the wheel in a NASCAR. When he retires it will be called the Hall that Jimmie Built.

He has to be the undisputed greatest NASCAR drivers ever.

I dunno...this is where I take issue. I wish Dale sr would have been able to race JJ in Cup.
SR had personality and moxie. If you can fault JJ with anything its lack of moxie.
To me, SR and Petty > johnson.

Sometimes with JJ find myself likening him to Data on star trek...he could perform the perfect
Symphony, correct to down to the very minute details. But it would lack feeling, lack a personality as it were. To me, thats Jimmies racing. Perfect in its execution but it seems to lack a certain feeling.

Maybe Im just a romantic, but I liked SR and the personality of the old days. Maybe thats why Uncle harv and smoke appeal to me. Patrick is open and honest as well and shows emotion too. I know Johnson shows emotion but he just lacks something for me.

aren't the best drivers the ones that make it look easy?? with dale sr and petty there were way less drivers capable of winning each week. The old timers also had a pretty huge equipment advantage. JJ has less equipment advantage than any of the all time greats.

But the point system wasn't manipulated for Dale and Richard in an attempt to increase revenue.

I do not care for Jimmie, at all. But I will say he will go down as the greatest driver in NASCAR history and I feel fortunate to be able to witness history.

Good point, but my moxie point remains, and for me thats why I dont think I could cheer for JJ week in week out. I can and do appreciate his skill and craft, but cheering like I do for DP, Its just not in me.

It is theorized that under the original system, JJ would have 3 championships. Compare that to the racers who won under the old system and JJ is another DW.

I still have yet to see any proof that Brian France created The Chase so that Jimmie and Chad could win Six Championship. As of right now, I'm just marking that up to haters and complainers.

You'd think after 4 or 5 in a row that'd BF would get the idea that something aint right here. No variety. Plenty of variety in the old system and no complaints about the championship. Easy to see the common denominator :idunno:

I agree. People are forever asking for proof of this or that. Where's the evidence to support that claim?

Maybe Johnson and Chad are just that good?

All I see is the results of the manipulation. Draw your own conclusion. Decide the reasoning on your own. Brian didn't change the format in an attempt to decrease revenue. He's a businessman, do the math.

As far as I could tell, The Chase came about because either A) Nextel (at the time) wanted something that separated itself from the previous sponsor of the series, Winston. So they came up with a play-off system to differentiate between the old era and the new era. Or B ) It was created after Matt Kenseth won the Championship in 2003 with just one win. Jimmie Johnson didn't start his five times streak til 2006. He started racing for Hendricks in 2002.

So....the whole notion that The Chase was created so that Johnson could win Six Championship is just Ludicrous.

You are entitled to your own opinion. I wouldn't expect less from a true JJ fan. I'm not a JJ fan and I'm not so easily influenced. I respect your position even though I believe it is BS. :D

Probably a combo of a and b. I know for sure b had something to do with it. BF didn't design the chase for the 48. That's ridiculous. It just so happens that the last 10 races are tracks the 48 is super good at. After 10 years, It needs a shake-up regardless.

This sport would suck ass if we all rooted for the same driver.
Your driver sucks.
My driver is the best ever.

At least my driver isn't a cry baby! :p

I'm assuming we're saying this in jest, at least I am.
