Ive never really rooted for him since he beat Gordon by a millimeter peter at Atlanta. Total wtf rewind momentit seems to me that after he shut down his nationwide team harvick's attitude went to crap. and when he made fun of joe nemechek mother for wearing the army uniform i lost respect for him
You'd be cool with it if KyBu was the 5 time champ Same goes for everybody else's driver. You are entitled to your own opinion. I wouldn't expect less from a true JJ fan. I'm not a JJ fan and I'm not so easily influenced. I respect your position even though I believe it is BS.
Are you saying you wouldn't get bored watching Petty win 200?Wow this thread is interesting. I, and I did say I, the 48 team is one of the reasons NA$CAR is loosing ratings. I have no proof of this other than my own viewing habits. IMO the 48 team sandbags the 1st half of the season every year then when one of the commentators, make the comment the 48 team is loosing it's grip in NA$CAR the very next race the 48 team wins several races and gets into the stupid case where they dominate. I myself think one race team winning all the races (championships) is boring so I turn off watching that racing series I did this the last 2 years with F1. Why should I waste my time watching a race series when I already know who's going to win all the races. And I know there's a chance some may have the same feeling as I do. The 48 team dominating the race today made me turn this race off. I switched over to the IndyCar race.
I 100% doubt that #48 dominating the Championship through the Chase was the dream scenario France had in mind.
Right. France changed the format every year Jimmie won 5 in a row. That's kind of obvious by him changing the format every damn year.
Watching probably the greatest driver in the world right now win a race doesn't bother me like it seems to rankle some around here. Sorry but being an old timer and I do like Petty, but he didn't even come close to the competition that Johnson has had to deal with for his six championships and he has done it clean and with style. I guess if you were affixed to Earnhardt Sr., it was ok to watch him punt somebody out of the way, I liked him when he raced clean. It is a hell of a lot harder to pass somebody clean than to boot em in the middle of a corner.
Greatest driver in the world? Lets not get carried away. Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, and Kimi Raikkonen all are much better talents, probably vettel too. Larson and the busch bros are more talented then Jimmie as well, they don't have as good of teams or the equipment to hang with him every week. The 48 is just in another zip code at certain points of the year, and when they unload fastest there is no point in watching. Not taking anything away from Jimmie he's a great driver but his cars are far superior
To me that his brilliance. His idea of getting even is winning. He doesn't give you theatrics like an angry Kyle wanting to spin Clint today.
I am a bigger fan of Harvick, but Jimmie doesn't get hot headed like Kevin either. I see that as their flaws not JJs and he owes no apologies imo.
I hope Kevin wins the title this year, I think for much of his career he has been better than his equipment.
But I think he could learn a lot from JJ , and become even better.
And I think Dale E was more all buisness on the track as well. He was rougher but he had a lot of mental strength.
What some may think of as personality is a weakness. One other example is Brads self absorded personia since winning the title, and he doesn't put together as many complete races as a result.

So you're telling me that the likes of Hamilton and Alonso don't have far superior equipment in relation to the rest of the field?Greatest driver in the world? Lets not get carried away. GO 4I will root for any driver that keeps Kenseth or Harvick from winning the cup.............................. GO 48
Right on with Hamilton, Alonso's car is awful though. So you're telling me that the likes of Hamilton and Alonso don't have far superior equipment in relation to the rest of the field?
Hamilton's won 4/6 F1 races this year - and F1's still way more popular than NASCAR is around the world. Domination is an art form that some need to learn to appreciate

When any of those drivers win 6 championships we'll talk ok?
Stats are in the record books..that is what they go by if you haven't figured that out yet. We are talking about racing drivers I thought, Jimmy Johnson in particular, now it is stick n ball time, F-1..red what??
Ferrari's been in a bit of a slump but the team as a whole is better than most. It's the same with all forms of auto racing; it's not the single best driver that's going to win, it's the best combination of driver, car, team, engineers, etc.Right on with Hamilton, Alonso's car is awful though.

If it weren't for their outstanding driver lineup they'd be getting killed even worse. If they swapped Alonso and Raikkonen with the lineups of McLaren, Force India, and Williams they'd be 6th in in the standings.Ferrari's been in a bit of a slump but the team as a whole is better than most. Fair enough. I'm just saying it's hard to be able to call anybody the definitive "best" driver when there are so many different variables. Although it is hard to argue that the 48 team isn't one of the best, if not the best, of all time.Lol that's the point I was trying to make. Not denying Jimmies a great driver, just not willing to call him GOAT

Yeah didn't mean to get all this greatest driver crap started, I said I thought Johnson to be the greatest driver right now...present time. In Nascar the figures don't lie, since 2002, 11 years, Johnson has been a force, six out of 11 years he has won the whole thing. Only one 6th place finish, mostly first places and seconds. We can argue till we are blue in the face about who is the best all time driver, what era etc.
John Elway, Tom Brady, & Peyton Manning may disagree with you on that.Johnson is the Joe Montana (Best pro QB ever) .
Not really there was no stupid chase in The King's day, or Dale Sr's either. Are you saying you wouldn't get bored watching Petty win 200?
