Dread Johnson win

"I'm coming for you Kyle18fan"

Not gonna happen

John Elway, Tom Brady, & Peyton Manning may disagree with you on that.
I'm a Niner fan and agree that there are/where 'more talented' QBs than Joe (you forgot Dan Marino, Johnny Unitas, Steve Young and Otto Graham to name a few) but most people associate greatness with Championships and the 49er teams he played on where dominant on all facets. Kinda like JJ, he was a nobody in the Busch series with 1 win in 100 races and a 18th place average finish but once he got with the 48 team he started winning.. so even though there are about 10-15 drivers with more talent (IMO) he's got the trophies and people will call him great because of the 48's sucess

Brady is the only one that can be compared, the other two don't come close in championship victories. Not to mention, Brady is of a different era of the game than Montana. Thanks for proving my point!!!!!

I nor did you proof your point. You just think Montana is some kind of football god. Also he didn't have a better career in football than Terry Bradshaw.

lombardi paraphrased....." if wins / losses don't matter...why do we keep score ? "

Greatest driver in the world? Lets not get carried away. Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, and Kimi Raikkonen all are much better talents, probably vettel too. Larson and the busch bros are more talented then Jimmie as well, they don't have as good of teams or the equipment to hang with him every week. The 48 is just in another zip code at certain points of the year, and when they unload fastest there is no point in watching. Not taking anything away from Jimmie he's a great driver but his cars are far superior

I could not disagree more. I dont think the F1 crowd is any better.

The Busch brothers raw talents maybe close, but if I was an owner I would hire Jimmie first 24/7/365 on any day of their careers.

They only have an ounce his maturity and common sense, and have been fools in comparison.
Their catalogues are thick with foolishness, while in contrast Jimmies is just loaded with titles.

I get no joy on pointing out their flaws, but there is a reason that both do not compare to JJ. And the biggest reason is Kurt and Kyle themselves. If they had landed in the 48 car 10 years ago they wouldnt have kept the ride. Their potty mouths would have got them fired. Kurt didnt respect the Captain and he would have disrespected Hendrick too. Kyle almost threw his Cup deal away over an incident with Hornaday in a frigging truck race ( as on something that is very inconsequential to the big picture, again Jimmie just aint that stupid).

And the reason they have toned it down is because they almost castrated their racing careers with their idiocy. They felt entilted to be natrual deluxe a-holes, and when they finally started figuring things out, and pursuing common decency, it was strange and unnatural enough to be feel creepy and awkward.

Jimmie has never been such a fool on his worse day .And he has about as many chase wins as each of their total cup wins, a better wheel man imo. And the comparison is fair, all three of them came into Cup racing with good quality rides.

And Common sense is a big part of the driving skill set. He isnt as flashy but he never had their common sense deficit. He just makes it look to easy for many to appreciate.

Fair enough. I'm just saying it's hard to be able to call anybody the definitive "best" driver when there are so many different variables. Although it is hard to argue that the 48 team isn't one of the best, if not the best, of all time.

Oh no question, Jimmie is top 10 all time, top 5 probably when he retires just because of his accomplishments alone. My biggest gripe with Jimmie is that he gets too much credit while chad doesn't get enough. I think chad is the best crew chief ever and one of the most creative and innovative minds in NASCAR history.

I completely agree with that :)

Well isn't that true of all the great Crew Chiefs? I mean most people talk about the driver, but not very many talk about the crew chief. Of course I agree with you 100%. Chad kinda reminds me of my dad and my brother when my brother was go-kart racing. Every year, my dad would get the rule book for the season, go through it and look for any gray areas to play in. That how he was able to modify the engine and use a different kind of fuel to get my brother a few of his wins.

I think Chad does the same thing, take the rule book, pour through it and look for any gray areas that may give the 48 team an advantage. Honestly, I'd say Chad is a modern era Smokey Yunick. Okay...I probably shouldn't go that far. :p

Four Super Bowl wins puts them both in their own club. I was pointing out era's not people. Bradshaw, was of the 70's Montana was the 90's, Marino was in the 80's and so on even though Dan the Man never won a SB he was a top line QB for his time. What Johnson has done and in such a short period of time will more than likely never be duplicated, that is what sets him apart from the others.

By the way, I'm a Charger fan and they have had a couple guys that could throw a football pretty good and I still hate the 49'ers.

aren't the best drivers the ones that make it look easy?? with dale sr and petty there were way less drivers capable of winning each week. The old timers also had a pretty huge equipment advantage. JJ has less equipment advantage than any of the all time greats.

I am not following you on the older drivers having a huge equipment advantage and JJ's less equipment advantage? Please expand on that.

He just has a trained eye that the rest of us dont have. :sarcasm:

So somehow Chad isn't going to make the hall of Fame? get serious will ya. Who would vote against him. Maybe might be a few who watch a couple of races a year who might not know how good a chief Chad is. Now you want to wank on Johnson's crew chief...who are the Busch's crew chiefs..creek creek...crickets chirping.

Yessir. Chad is the man.

I think I like him even more than Johnson. I actually bought a Chad Knaus hat from the Hendrick online store one time. LOL.

so you were the one....lol....chad was crew chief for Loy Allen Jr and he was always fast in qualifying, and i believe he was the first rookie to get the pole for the daytona 500

I want a Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus autograph.

One of these days, I will get a Jimmie Johnson Diecast car and they will sign it! Then, I'll put it in a glass case and never let anyone touch it ever again.

you can mail them an item to be autographed, but i like getting mine in person and usually get a picture of them signing said item. but if you never get a chance, mailing it is an option, but you would have to send it twice, once attention jimmie j and again attention chad...

Brandon those you got were all in person...

I heard jimmie doesn't sign things through the mail anymore. I sent him some pics to sign in 2009 and they came back signed about 4 months later. I sent chad a pic last year and it was back the same week. I got a letter from his spotter as well. I think the crew guys like it more since they aren't used to the recognition that the drivers get.

i'm sure the bigger name drivers take awhile to get, i thought tony was the only one who refused to except mailings, but i can imagine the tons of stuff drivers get. i read stories where people have mailed cars still in their box to be sign and the driver didn't take the time to remove from box and just signed the box. i know dale sr said he went to shop 1 hr early everyday just to sign things. also read where drivers complain that people didn't have a returned postage stamp to send back their item. if i sent in a car i would do ups. i have a friends who sends about every driver a prepaid envelope for an autographed handout card, he has a nice collection, but he says each one says do not bend picture inside the post office still bend some to get it in his mailbox, and of course some never make it back for whatever reason.

The only way I'd do it through the mail if I had some verification that Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus actually signed it. There are some pretty good forgers and I bet one or two works for Hendricks.

Chads autograph is pretty unique, but jimmies is pretty simple and definitely easy to "forge"

Like I said, I'd need verification. A picture, a Certificate of documentation, anything. :)

myself i wouldn't be to concerned with mailing something straight to them, now buying off fleabay that's a different story. beside those 2 would never do anything sketchy. but of course it's your decision. i also think if he wasn't signing stuff himself, a quick search on google would tell the story. i just know some never have an option to get something signed in person. i have had some people to come by and compare their signatures they got thru the mail to the ones i have obtained in person and all so far have been spot on. but bottom line if you not comfortable going that route, then you shouldn't. by the way i hope you get both autographs.

Could always send it away to a authentication place. For a fee, of course :D It is nice getting them in person for that added assurance, no doubt.
