Honestly.. I'm going to miss "boogity boogity boogity!"
Good suggestions, but I would show full unabashed support for getting Ricky Craven into the third prime race commentary slot!Jamie Mac or Bobby would be great replacements.
We all make of fun of him, some of us could not care less for his commentary, but you know... as you say, it won't be the same without "boogity, boogity, boogity!" Oh, and man, I hope no one else attempts to replicate his catchphrase, lmao, there's no saying it like he does.Honestly.. I'm going to miss "boogity boogity boogity!"

I just started watching NASCAR 10 years ago so I only ever known him as a broadcaster..DW's 72. That's usually about the time broadcasters tend to step away.
I caught the tail end of his "relevant" driving career ('88-'93) so I remember him more as a broadcaster. With that said, I'll always remember being a young kid and watching him do the "Icky Shuffle" after winning the '89 500. No one can question his passion for the sport. He's definitely one of the good guys!

When I first started paying attention to it he was the Western Auto 17 and was still very competitive and ornery but definitely at the end of the line.
Knaus hangs it up after '19 and goes in the booth. One can dream. Would make sense since he's frequently on RacehubI think Jamie Mac would be a good fit, but I also wouldn’t mind a crew chief in there.
It's up there among the best. I always liked cars that ran flags for gas, oil, car parts, etc.

So much this right here, I really like TV Chad, and I am really looking forward to the day that he goes full time with NASCAR TV , and I think once he is free from HMS, we are going to get a treasure trove of info that he just cant really share while being a CC( not talking about HMS proprietary stuff) .Knaus hangs it up after '19 and goes in the booth. This is one the iconic paint schemes of the 90's in my opinion , when you see this, you know the era, you know the driver, you know what it means.
This. I've always hated 'Boogity', he favors some drivers, and he's too quick to jump to conclusions that the replays eventually show to be wrong. He hasn't been in the seat in almost 20 years and at least three different 'generations' of cars. I like him personally, out of the booth, and even during P & Q, but once the anthem is sung I have little use for his broadcasting style.I like DW. I never liked him in the booth. Happy retirement DW.
Exactly.I like DW. I never liked him in the booth. Happy retirement DW.
Yep ^^^^^I got nothing against DW personally. He seems nice enough. BUT, there isn't a season gone by I don't yell STFU DW at least once.
Retire, be happy.
Yes. He has been great when in the booth, and while professional, lacks just enough filter to be very interesting and candid. If I can make a suggestion for a long-term replacement...
Same here. I remember his first "boogity" and thought that was the most childish thing I ever heard at the beginning of a race after following it since the early 80's on TNN/ESPN. Couldn't believe it when he did it again the 2nd race. Now nearly 20 years later he's still doing it. Like you, I always mute the TV just before they hit the green flag.I hope I never here it again. I will be able to un-mute the sound when they are coming to the green then
Harvick is calling the Xfinity race right now and doing great. So calm and informative. Not hyperventilating like Mikey or Burton.Dale Jarrett please. He's awesome.
Once Harvick is ready to retire, I think he will be fantastic in the booth. The first time I heard him call an Xfinity race, I was blown away by how good he was. He's a natural.
