fire

Look who i found today. He was in the ceiling panels of the living room.

I got myself a ladder, pulled out ceiling panels until I found him. Just about killed me to get him down. Cat.....Ladder......high up.....not a good combo.

awwww, that's great
How is he?

Bucky, He's hiding in Jennifer's bathroom, he likes bathrooms. He is eating, not sure if he's drinking water yet. I just took him some fresh water and food.

I'll keep you updated. I'm not going to lose him now, I'm going to make sure he makes a full recovery.

I'm so glad you found the little guy! Has he been without water all this time? If so, he's probably really dehydrated.

Yes, no food or water for 2 weeks. If he had water, I have no idea how? The water to the house is turned off. He's lost a little bit of weight.

I'm just so damn glad he's alive. I have beaten myself up over this fire and his disappearance.

Thinking about it, there's no way he could have survived that long with no water. Standing water left from hoses used during the fire, perhaps?

It's funny how most cats seem to like bathrooms.

Good Lord Lisa....I missed the whole thingy...glad you didn't burn the place to the ground and all were safe. You remind me a bit of my ex-wife...she almost burned my place to the ground with a skillet.

She said she didn't mean to :D

I called myself an idiot for days, Racer. Now that my kitties are safe and accounted for, well, that makes things easier.

He's lookin pretty good for someone who's been missing for couple weeks

He has lost a little weight, if you can believe it. He's always been a big boy. I don't know how he survived for 2 weeks? I really don't? Jennifer and I both went through the house several times looking for him, never heard a peep.

I am just so blessed and lucky I heard him last Thursday.

I lost a cat for 3 weeks once. Came back with a front leg tangled up in her collar but about 3 lbs heavier. That cat was a BAMF.

I talked to the adjuster today and he turned his paperwork into the insurance company last week. He said there was between $30,000 and $35,000 worth of damage done to the kitchen. :(

Does that include those 2 original Picasso paintings you lost in the fire???????

lol No my silly friend but the kitchen is toast.

I actually heard from the insurance today and my claim was accepted.

In other news, I have been hobbling around for about a week now. I go to a specialist for my knees. They are both popping and cracking constantly. My left one is REALLY bad, the pain is mostly coming from the right side of my knee cap. I'll find out more on Wednesday. It might just be arthritis but if it is, dammit, it hurts like hell. Words don't describe.......

Check into something like these; not much more than the less adjustable braces. If I can't adjust them, I find they tend to slide around too much to suit me: https://www.amazon.com/PrettyCare-S...5942996&sr=8-4&keywords=knee+brace+prettycare

I tried one of those but with my knee problem I need the pressure of the elastic to keep it from hirting.

Yeah, it's really trial and error with knee braces. You pretty much have to try several things before finding the style that works for you.

We are finally making progress. I have a general contractor picked out. My insurance looks like it's going to cover the damage. Please don't ask why this has taken so long. I will give you a hint, "red tape."

After the kitchen is fixed, I am putting it on the market. I was going to sell it to my sister but it looks like that is going to fall through.

Just wanted to update you all.

Lisa, is the company paying the expenses over and above what you'd normally pay if you were in your home?
It's been 3.5 months since you first posted. I don't understand this ''red tape'' delay. As the car insurance commercial says ''You need a better company''.
I worked in insurance claims and a 3+ month delay is totally unacceptable.
If me I'd be doing humida, humida, humida in front of the state insurance commissioner attempting to explain the reason for the delay and losing my butt
