I thought Tony signed up to race.

How a driver deals with the media is not in their contract. They are under no obligation to talk to anyone.

I know what this is all about, you're that lady that bumped into him and tried to sue him aren't ya? :p
 
LMAO! Yeah right. That was unfortunate....but he himself has managed to put a big bulls eye on his back. BTW, ask Homedepot, who has invested millions just on Toni's racing record and his agreement to win as many races as possible......how they want THEIR BOY to act in front of the media. Prolly, they want him to plug HD every chance he gets and how can he do that if he is running from the press whenever he has a poor showing? The good/the bad and the ugly.

Wouldn't NASCAR be his priority instead of a moderated skit on SNL?

I dont know what the big deal is here, but hell... everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. just dont blow it outta the water. I've been reading some of the most unreal things in this thread, its about childish. To hear that Tony will finish higher than Jeff every year until one of em leaves about made me cry I laughed so hard... I'm not pickin' and choosin' sides here, I can just tell that the off-season is getting to us all... ;)

Boy this thread took off since I was here last. The general consensus I get from reading all of these posts is that people wonder why Nascar picked Gordon over Toni. Well, they didn't. Nascar has no say in it whatsoever. Gordon, if owned by anyone, it is his sponsors, DuPont and Pepsi, who by the way have way more power than Nascar. Gordon is a corporation, a money making machine and I am sure his agents really pushed for him to be on the show. He already has a good track record on television. The old days of just racing are gone, you must be able to do both in some capacity.

And the reason I type "Toni" is because I always read "Jeffy" and it is never adressed by you, so it's fair game.

The old I've been a fan longer than you diatribe is hogwash. New fans come in every day to the sport. Seems with that attitude, Jr. fans, Toni fans, Newman fans, Johnson fans etc. should never be able to comment cause they haven't been around as long. LMAO.

Jeff Gordon is more popular than Toni and whoever picked Gordon over Toni made a good decision. I am sure Toni could host it someday, but only after Gordon:p

Can't wait to read the after show posts, it might get ugly in here:D

So, you guys believe what you want, I believe I will watch and hope it's funny:)
 
The point you continue to miss is that I wasn't asking why Gordon is on the show instead of Tony it's that if NASCAR nosed in and insisted SNL op for one over the other is pretty lame. I'm sure you would say the same if the situation were reversed.

That's 4 times it's been spelled out for you, let me know when it sinks in.

I hope it's funny too. I like Gordon.
 
Being recent champ has nothing to do with it(being on SNL). Stewart is not a poor loser , he just doesn't like losing. ASk his fellow competitors what they think of him, ask Dale Jarret, remember how he stuck up for him in a drivers meeting towards the end of the seasson? Who went into victory lane to congratulate him at Homestead when he won the championship? DJ, the other drivers respect him, i respect him, i don't always agree with what he does , but he is great for this sport and i wish there were more like him. Jeffy tends to get on my nerves at times, but he is a great guy, i think talent wise he is among the best ever. They are 2 distinct personalities and we need that diversity in this sport!

Did you ever think that Tony rather drive than play skits on SNL? Did you ever think that Jeff is not the #1 NASCAR driver of all times? Ton follow Jeff? Not last season. :D
 
ok, Jeff Gordon is gonna be on SNL no matter what, so........ there isn't anything we can do about it.

With Gordon hosting SNL now, maybe we'll see other drivers host SNL in the future.
 
Who cares? Look at all that have been on SNL. Winners and losers.
 
It's not even like SNL is really that great anymore. They are starting to stretch for material almost as bad as MAD was after their first season.
 
I agree i don't watch SNL either, and won't watch it just because Jeffy is on it....now if Cameron Diaz was hsoting it then....well......;)
