So they pay approximately half, does Hendrick have to use the hooters paint scheme for half of the agreed upon races?

Elliott could go out and win Martinsville this week like he was 19 laps from doing in the fall and everyone would immediately shut their traps. Seriously, we're talking 10ish miles from making 4 out of the last 5 final 4 appearances. That's how narrow the margin is that's being freaked out over regarding Elliott.

6th in points not 26th...probably should of won COTA, got wrecked at Daytona and Atlanta

I think you all know that I'm as much in Chase's corner as anyone, BUT, this mediocre, scrambling to salvage top ten crap has GOT TO STOP. Larson is faster, Byron is "luckier" and as of late Bowman is more consistent. That isn't leaving much for Chase. It's LONG past time for him to not only start being more of a factor, but to also start closing the deal a LOT more often.

Rev, you know me well enough to know that I don't sugarcoat things, I don't make excuses and I don't pretend stuff isn't happening. I'll even go as far to say that if Rick and Jeff gave me the job of fixing it, I don't even know where I'd start. All I know is what they are doing right now isn't cutting it, and making a bunch of unforced errors just compounds the issue. When you are Chase Elliott, and you drive for Hendrick Motorsports, mediocrity is not an option.

Well I mean…The 9 has been outperformed by the 24 and 5 for almost 3 years now(Chase had 5 wins and a championship race birth in 2022). I hate to say it but the body of work doesn’t lie. Chase is always a title contender each year but the 5/24 have been the aces in the hole for HMS as it is

Just like last year he sixth and points because his worst finish all year is 20th, he has hardly any stage points no stage wins and he hasn't really been a factor in any of the races. Nobody wants to be the fourth best driver on a four car team.

LOL. Oh I bet there are plenty of drivers who would be tickled pink to be running 6th in points while driving for Rick Hendrick.

So Chase is currently 6th behind three other HMS cars, a JGR, and a 23XI ride. Would it better if he was behind three Penskes, a JGR and a 23XI? Sixth is sixth. Same payout at the end regardless of who's in front of you.

No one here really thinks his job is on the line, do they? :XXROFL:

I don't have expectations, those are per-meditated resentments for the most part, but I do have observations and that is that as a group Elliott fans are the whiniest of them all and this thread is an example of that.

Not a bit, just like when Dale Jr. sucked for half a decade and when Gordon had multiple off years in a row, but I'm not going to apologize for wanting more or expecting more. This is a champion, a twenty race winner in the prime years of his career with the premier team in the series. If he can't win and compete for another championship now, when WILL he?

Why is it whiny to point out that this team is not performing to the expected level? If it was Larson who hadn't been a threat to win a race two months into the season let alone actually win one, it would be all anyone would be talking about.
 
83 Cup races since the last time the 9 was in VL.

Gordon’s recent remarks were a shot across the bow. Maybe it’s time to lower expectations.
