I could care less if Larson starts in 6th for the 500. It's a long race usually filled with calamity's. On the other hand Larson could have lapped the field at N. Wilkesboro last year. It could be a million dollar win. Seriously doubt there will be more eyes on the fast 6 than there will be for the All Star Race.I am seriously beginning to think that NOBODY in American auto racing could market two dollar hookers at a Super Bowl venue. This should NOT be this hard. Everyone involved needs to park their egos and agendas and do the thing that will draw the MOST eyes to the sport. My God these people are dumb....
The goal should be for the most eyes possible on BOTH.I could care less if Larson starts in 6th for the 500. It's a long race usually filled with calamity's. In that respect, why does NASCAR try to run the 600 on the same day as the 500 anyway?I am seriously beginning to think that NOBODY in American auto racing could market two dollar hookers at a Super Bowl venue. Along the vein of co-operation, Nascar moved it's time fairly recently so attempts to run both races could be possible. Bill France started out competing with the 500 and the times overlapped so I don't know what the problem is here?In that respect, why does NASCAR try to run the 600 on the same day as the 500 anyway?
4th? Whatever. It looks like he is tied for 3rd to me and all 4 drivers have only 3 points of separation back to Bell.

Agreed, and in the promo for Prime, Chase is featured in anticipation of the road course in Mexico.....Is he really even a thing on road courses anymore?Right now the 9 Team is leading the league in consistent mediocrity. I can't recall a time where 4th in points feels like 14th.
He had the best car at COTA if he hadn't spent all day recovering from being Chastained.Agreed, and in the promo for Prime, Chase is featured in anticipation of the road course in Mexico.....Is he really even a thing on road courses anymore?
I think he is, but I do think the new car cut into his advantage a little bit, plus you have guys like SVG and Zillich that are going to cut into his opportunities, and the rest of the field continues to up their game. Look how great Bubba ran at COTA. Every time you think you have figured out who can contend, another name seems to pop up out of nowhere. There are also now so many different tracks that it's hard to excel at all of them. In my opinion, Chase's wheelhouse is The Glen, the Roval and COTA. Chicago and Sonoma, not so much. What sucks is that even on the days the car is really fast, something stupid ALWAYS seems to derail the effort, from getting punted from four rows back, to signs falling onto the track to ill timed cautions, it's ALWAYS something.Agreed, and in the promo for Prime, Chase is featured in anticipation of the road course in Mexico.....Is he really even a thing on road courses anymore?
If you looked at the numbers you'd be surprised. He could very easily have 4 or so RC wins in this car, things just haven't fallen his way.Agreed, and in the promo for Prime, Chase is featured in anticipation of the road course in Mexico.....Is he really even a thing on road courses anymore?
I guess the only thing I'm hanging my hat on is they're showing the ability to stay afloat when things aren't going exactly how they want. You gotta be able to do that. IF they can get the speed figured out it will make them a very well rounded team come late in the season.Right now the 9 Team is leading the league in consistent mediocrity. I can't recall a time where 4th in points feels like 14th.

Great points, but Chase isn't the guy anymore. Larson is. Chase used to be so dominant on road courses that all of the stupid stuff didn't matter. If you looked at the numbers you'd be surprised. He could very easily have 4 or so RC wins in this car, things just haven't fallen his way.
I think the point we are trying to make is I don't think ANYONE is going to be able to dominate the road courses (or anywhere else for that matter) the way others, like Gordon or Martin or even Chase was able to. Much like our championship format, I feel like every week you would have as good of a shot picking winners by throwing darts as anything else. I think that 75% of the time Chase is going to be in the conversation at the road courses, but that isn't near as likely to translate into wins the way it USED to. The car evened the playing field, and the competition is a step closer than they were. Guys like Richard Petty and Bobby Allison used to dominate at Riverside, and then guys like Richmond, Labonte, Rudd and Wallace came along, and the old guard NEVER won again. Did those guys forget how to drive? No, but the competition keeps getting better.Great points, but Chase isn't the guy anymore. Larson is. I won't go that far, but there are easily a dozen or more who wouldn't be surprising if they won an RC.Much like our championship format, I feel like every week you would have as good of a shot picking winners by throwing darts as anything else.
Kyle Larson is dominant. Period. He is the guy to beat every damn week.I think the point we are trying to make is I don't think ANYONE is going to be able to dominate the road courses (or anywhere else for that matter) the way others, like Gordon or Martin or even Chase was able to. Yo Revman, how big a track is Kansas this week?Kyle Larson is dominant. Period. He is the guy to beat every damn week.
Point proven.
He is dominant a lot, but just like last Sunday, it often doesn't translate into a win. Your pal Jeffy, winning forty races in four years, THAT was domination.Kyle Larson is dominant. Period. He is the guy to beat every damn week.
And a whole lot of bending the rules I think they call it.He is dominant a lot, but just like last Sunday, it often doesn't translate into a win. Your pal Jeffy, winning forty races in four years, THAT was domination.
It is weird. It’s the most hopeless I’ve felt as a fan since Bill’s 94 days or Jeff Burton’s sponsorless days at Roush but he’s top 4 in points. Yet it means next to nothing with a playoff system…Right now the 9 Team is leading the league in consistent mediocrity. I can't recall a time where 4th in points feels like 14th.
I firmly believe Chase’s advantage at road courses in Gen 6 car was braking. This also translated to Martinsville as well. His technique combined with something HMs had in their braking systems allowed him to eat people alive in heavy braking zones. When you were in the stands at the Roval you could really see it watching the backstretch chicane. You could see it with your bare eyes. Watkins Glen as well. The next gen car killed that by giving everyone giant brakes and wide tires. Just my .02
He owned the infield too. When you were in the stands at the Roval you could really see it watching the backstretch chicane. You could see it with your bare eyes.
As if everyone they weren't racing against wasn't bending the same rules. And a whole lot of bending the rules I think they call it.
D-o-m-i-n-a-n-t. Have a great night. He is dominant a lot, but just like last Sunday, it often doesn't translate into a win. Your pal Jeffy, winning forty races in four years, THAT was domination.
