The "good old days" ??
System, not tickets. Try to pay attention
System makes it sound complicated.

..... I'm finding it harder and harder to get excited this year. .
Tell me about it .
Yeah I didn't entirely understand my own suggestion either but on paper it sounds better than what happened last night.System makes it sound complicated.
My idea -- -- no fan vote

Lose the segments, move it to a short track and have goodyear supply a super soft, super grippy tire that wears out after 15 laps of hard driving.
I know, but its really just a excuse to get Danica/some old geezer who was popular in the 80s into the race.Other sports have a fan vote ,I think . Seems to me that baseball does. I don't see the harm in involving the fans .It's just an exhibition race. It's like ..Brad had pictures of fans on his car this weekend .It wasn't the true Miller paint scheme but I was ok with it.

Definition of GEEZER
: a queer, odd, or eccentric person.
So are you a young geezer then.

But that's one of the ways NASCAR was able to keep the pit crew challenge alive!
Put all 43 drivers in . Keep the million dollars pay off . Make it a points race . Move it to North Wilkesboro. That would work for me .
So I guess the chance for another million dollars didn't make anybody race even harder?
I think that this is the first year that I have ever heard 'no fan vote 'mentioned . I don't think that I ever heard it in baseball either . Anyone else ?

No, the Junior haters were saying it a few years ago too.I think that this is the first year that I have ever heard 'no fan vote 'mentioned . I don't think that I ever heard it in baseball either . Anyone else ?
What does that mean . The drivers weren't trying ?No way to fix it. It's just like the stick and ball sports now, the drivers don't need the money. The race to race in sucked.
They sure didn't push there cars past there limits for the win.
I was listening to TMD on Sirius yesterday morning, and the guys that host that show brought up a very good point. They mentioned that, for all the years the All-Star Race has been run, there are only three races that you could really call "classics": 1987, 1989, and 1992. Pretty bad when there have only been three truly memorable races in 29 tries, the most recent being over two decades ago. Bottom line: the All-Star race rarely lives up to all the hype surrounding it.
