If I could turn back time

I tried to read it until my eyes crossed and I gave up.

Don't worry ... that's why people like Fluf and me exist. The minister at a local church recently had her 2 weeks past warranty computer go full tits up. A minister .. direct line to a divinity .. 2 weeks out of warranty. Think she was praying? I guess the answer was "No". She sent it to me. I (I **** you not) kept it for 3 days .. did nothing to it. Plugged it in, ran better than new. Did .. Nada. Laid hands on the keyboard, nothing more. Returned it to her .... no charge. After all, I didn't do anything but keep it close. I really didn't envy her having to write her next sermon given the time of year. I did send her a spare external hard drive to do a full backup ... after all, we all know what happened after Easter, don't we?

fluffy took me into the "inner sanctum" at Slack. They speak full-on Geek there. About all I could understand were the curse words and some of
the little plain English they bothered to use.

If I had a dollar for every time that happened where I work, I'd be a rich man. They always look at me in amazement, like "OMG, you're my hero, what did you do!?", and I'm just like :idunno:

Been having some trouble with Tapatalk @fury will it come right? Here's a screenshot of what I get.
And I'm with Aunty and Bobby please keep my small contribution to costs.

Bumping this again. Has there been any discussions to fix this? If there are any costs associated with getting the forum up and running on Tapatalk again, I'd be happy to contribute/cover those.

Not trying to be pushy or impatient, just wasn't sure what was going on since I haven't been on much since Tapatalk was how I accessed the forums 100% of the time.

Sorry about that. Been a pretty busy few weeks for me at work and home. This should be fixed now, hopefully!

It is working again. I had given up but my Tapatalk is back working! Thanks :)

Working on Tapatalk again for me, Fury. I really appreciate the work you put into the site. I haven't found another racing forum that comes close to this one.

Test from my phone using tapatalk.

Well great its working for me. I contacted Tapatalk last month and they said that I was using an obsolete version of Tapatalk but when I tried to download the latest version it said my phone needed a current version of my phone software. Lol

I'm due for an upgrade just using an Iphone 5s with old software.

The error has stopped showing up for me. I'm on a 5s as well, but the latest version of iOS. DanicaFreak did it clear up on your end yet?

And the cycle continues ...

TWELVE YEARS of US Air Force complaints lost in database crash

The US Air Force Inspector General is investigating the corruption of around 100,000 investigation records, and presumably someone's asking hard questions about backups.

Corruption in the database happened last month, but has only just come to light after both the USAF and Lockheed Martin threw in the towel on trying to recover the data.

Defense One says Lockheed Martin notified the Air Force after it spent two weeks trying to recover the information.

The Automated Case Tracking System had data dating back to 2004 on complaints, investigations, appeals, and freedom of information requests, covering everything from waste and fraud to sexual harrassment.

Defense One also reports criticism by Senator Mark Warner (Democrat, Virginia) that the Air Force only provided a “five sentence notification to Congress” about the crash, five days after service leaders became aware of the problem.

As well as the historical record, current investigations are being delayed because of the database disaster.

Some of the lost information might be duplicated in individual bases where documents were first filed (which would give an army of DBAs the forlorn task of cataloguing everything that might be lost against everything that might be recoverable, and taking the resulting list to the boss).

An Air Force statement reported by Defense One and C4ISR and Networks reckons the USAF is “aggressively leveraging vendor and DoD capabilities to attempt to recover the lost data and determine the severity of the loss”.

The Register speculates “aggressively leveraging” the vendor's capabilities conceivably covers things like yelling at various veeps, using lots of capital letters in e-mails, and sending copies of contracts off to lawyers. ®
