If Joey Logano Were to Return to JGR

It's not that biased really... you can look up the numbers if you want.... how can stats be biased?

OK. Tell us the numbers. All the numbers, including those from the JGR years and we'll have an unbiased look at them.

.....While I do not share you excitment about Danica, I do conceed a good run is a good run no matter who it is. I do take umbrage with attention it garnered for a 7th place finish, as the majority of her supporters made it out to be the second coming, yet want her to be treated equal (so they say) . If she was to be treated as a race car driver and not a "female" race car driver well it would have been treated like all the other 7th place drivers before and after Kansas, crickets.

Post of the year nominee right there.

Very well said, kbtoys. Welcome to the forum.

Ask away.. what do you wana know?... Im not just going to list his entire stat sheet because you think for some reason that those years are comparable lol

Look at all the JGR stats all you want.. but the fact is that when he came to Penske he got better... in the last 36 races his numbers are competitive with the best in the series... but if you want to think he's going to be slow at a certain track because of his average finish there then go right ahead.

Before this year his average at Richmond was around 23rd.. About 18th at Texas... and those are just the wins... pretty much every track in the series he has improved at dramatically.

Here... this is what Carl Edwards thinks, I think he put it perfectly.

“He definitely has elevated himself in my eyes,” the veteran driver Carl Edwards said. “If you look at the hierarchy of the garage and as drivers, we all look at which cars are running the best and which team is at what point and who’s learning things quicker, and Joey kind of threw that whole thing on its head by just going out and basically speeding up a half-second everywhere he went.”

From HERE

....but like I said, if you want to base your ideas of how he might perform at a certain track based on his average finish there over the past 5 years be my guest.

Say what you want but deep down you have to know there's more to it than that. It's alright, you don't have to say it... it doesn't really matter to me... the results speak for themselves. Just because they are in Joeys favour doesn't mean they're biased... it just means Joey is doing good.

What is the point you are trying to make about Logano in this thread?
I think it's that he thinks that because the numbers favour Logano now.. the people praising him for it are wrong (or "biased") because he did poorly at JGR.

That's the only sense I can make of it.... not saying that it makes sense... but I think that's his angle. He doesn't like people looking at the Penske numbers I guess. Like it will make Kenseth go faster or something.

Speak for yourself, please.

o_O

Im still waiting for ur answer to post #129

The point was that it seems a bit silly to be taking umbrage with DP receiving attention for a 7th place finish while for 2 years we heard over and over and over how great Logano was going to be during his first two years, yet done very little to warrant the praise.

It then turned into people posting opinion as fact and looking at stats that only tell part of the story. So suggesting that I don't want to look at Penske numbers when all I asked is that we look at all the number is bull****.

There's your answer.

The fact is Joey outperformed Danica in as many starts. No one said he did great... but Danica has done worse.. Biased has nothing to do with that... you can spin it however you want.. go ahead... tell me the rest of the story.

Really if u look back.. its not even Penske numbers that were looked at in comparing them...

Logano in his first two years - 72 races 1 win, 1 pole, 10 top 5's and 23 top 10's.
Patrick in 57 races 1 pole, 2 top 10's.

So unless u think Patrick will get 10 top 5's and another 21 top 10's in her next 15 races :D ... how is it that biased?... those numbers blow her out of the water no matter who your driver is lol.

..and Im only look at the top 5's and 10's... not even counting the rain win he smokes her

Well, if you care to roll your eyes to the forward position, I will.

And no one said that DP outperformed Logano.

As for bias...how about posting what Stewart and Hamlin have to say about Logano as well as what Edwards said?

You mean silly for a Logano fan to take 'umbrage' with Danica receiving attention for a 7th place finish? I don't think it's silly. It was just a top 10, and lots of people acted like she won the race.
No one ever did that when Logano posted a top 10 in his first few years in Cup.
It was an over the top reaction to a simple top 10. Even those Logano fans could see that.

As for bias...how about posting what Stewart and Hamlin have to say about Logano as well as what Edwards said?

Logano is outperforming both those guys this year.
They may not like him personally but I doubt they'd deny his obvious talent.
