I'm already sick of the chase and it hasn't started yet.

Am I alone here? How much of that race broadcast was dedicated to Kasey Kahne, James Buescher and the other guys that EVERYBODY knows have no shot (and shouldn't even be in the running) for the championship free-for-all. You can't escape it. You can't just mute the TV, they will hold the camera steady on a guy running 25th and you have to sit there and look at the scroll at the top of the screen to see what the leaders are up to.

Bleh!

Glad they’re doin’ it. When I had that old T-Bird ‘n went travelin’ around showin’ it, I met some real……..

Oh. T-Ball. Sorry. Never mind.

You can add Tony Stewart and Jamie Mac to that list . Thankfully we won't be hearing any more about any of those guys after round one (or whatever they are calling it this year).

I thought it was the "separating wheat from chaff round."

You will never be alone bitching and moaning around here. HOWEVER, if you show passion and an allegiance to a driver and the sport? Now that will get you into some pretty ugly ****. Stay the hell away from that. Chase hating is a good start. Pay attention to the empty seats and declining TV ratings. For God's sake, pay attention to the rrrrracin' in a generic way because any joy over a specific driver or team winning will be perceived as fanboi and/or trolling.

Good news! I understand Bristol was a sellout? See, the sport is rebounding....Wait.

I love all of this. Enjoy it for what it is.

I didn't like the original chase and hate this one even worse. The new version is a accident waiting to happen especially on the last race before the points are set. Once the Chase starts it is more or less like Kev said in that you are going to do whatever is needed for you to advance and don't care about who has hurt feelings. I really believe that is why people like Matt get so teared up because they want to have everybody play nice, except for when they are ones that don't. Still wished we would have keep the old season long format with just adjustments in points and the like.

I would be a fan of the Championship being one of the Wheel of Fortune prizes . Spin the wheel , pass out the championship , then go on with the regular season .

I agree with the majority about the Chase --- I don't like it. It's artificial and contrived.
So, the way I deal with it, I just don't pay any attention to it.
I watch each race as just that --- a race. I enjoy watching the race. I pay no attention
to "who's in, who's out", or "who's on the bubble." I just watch the race.

I don't worry about something I can't change --- but I don't let that take away my pleasure at
watching the races.

I am not accusing anyone of doing this on these boards but based on my experience people do not like fanboi's and love ins toward drivers and teams as that sort of thing is better served on specific fan websites where everyone can hold hands and sing in tune together.

I'm not a fan of the current grab-bag chase, but will probably be flipping back and forth between the NFL and NASCAR while it is going on.

Correct me if I am wrong but you, like me, could live with the first chase format where 10 teams made it.

Do I still get the RSTNLE and can I purchase additional vowels?

They should have stuck with the original chase format but IMO it was needed for the sport. I know many of you don't like it but both NASCAR and Golf with its Fedex Cup do the only things that make it relevant to me this time of year. Bottom line is I've got my Buckeyes and Lions, Tigers playoff games, and Red Wings all playing this time of year. With the exception of Martinsville and Talledega I really stop following NASCAR

If you want to help the sport though, prices have to go down. Seriously it's as expensive as going to an OSU game and there's 36 of these a year!

I liked the chase as a 10 race playoff not the last race decides it all deal we have now, but then again people wanted to keep Jj from winning every year

Great, more of revs trolling.

I think the opposite is also true of this board . There are plenty of other websites where driver hate is the predominant post. We have a tad more respect for our players

This ridiculous championship format makes me sick, and I will be boycotting the Homestead finale this year (like I did the first year).

Unfortunately, I watched the Homestead finale last year because I thought it was going to be Jeff Gordon's final race. Now I wish I had boycotted it as well.

I think the members on this forum are great as I have never seen anything that even resembles hatred toward a driver and only a couple of people that fell in the water their driver walked on but there is only one left now.

Sometimes change can be difficult. I have faith that NASCAR is doing the right things to ensure we have many years of racing left to enjoy.

Any guesses when these "right things" Nascar is doing is going to translate into gaining fans instead of losing them, having more people attend races and more people watch them at home? The last stats I read show that only 14% of Nascar fans are under 35 so that is something that needs attention too.

I like the Chase. The old Chase. No Chase. Points. I don't really care. I love it. Additionally, I follow the Manufacturer Standings very closely, and this is going to be one hell of a fight. This is the greatest sport on the planet if you let it be.
