Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

Again, that isn’t my point……. my point was Texas Motor Speedway has some of the best hospitality options in NASCAR by far. Why would anyone stay in an AirBNB besides saving money?
You just stated that you and your brother would like to see a race from a condo. Apparently they are available at Texas. I was just trying to help you get there.
I apologize for assuming you'd like some information.

I’m just messing I saw an opportunity to make an ill timed joke and took it. Probably wasn’t funny but I chuckled, I needed a laugh today. I don’t care this much about Texas, I think the track will always be around due to the size of the DFW market and fans will either have to take that week off from watching or DVR to skip forward. I also have advocated that if NASCAR one day does decide rotate the championship race Texas should be on that rotation due to the market size and amenities of the track, it does look like a nice facility to watch a race from. Wouldn’t mind attending one myself, grandstands or condo ha ha.

Rotating the finale between Las Vegas, Texas, Homestead-Miami & Phoenix would be cool

My bad. I thought it was general AirBNB. I’d rather buy thru the track than a 3rd party, no offense, I do appreciate the help lol.

I've had season tickets at TMS since it opened and we also camp every year. I have been to 8 different tracks currently on the schedule and TMS is by far the most fan friendly. And of probably the worst racing surface LOL. If any of y'all every make it out, let me know and we can have a cold beverage together. I'm really looking forward to next month as they have added the CBell Micro Mania dirt races.

I’ve been to:

Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Auto Club Speedway
Sonoma Raceway
Kansas Speedway
Phoenix Raceway
New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Richmond Raceway
World Wide Technology Raceway
Michigan International Speedway

The best experiences & hospitality experience overall I’ve had are at Las Vegas & Richmond personally.

This could be a solid thread for favorite tracks. I've been to...

Michigan
Martinsville
Darlington
Bristol
Kentucky
Atlanta

Martinsville is just the absolute best man, you need to go

I’ve driven by VIR & Danville nearby last year, it’s a nice area for sure but it’s hard to access by plane/no major airport (which is also what makes it great). It’s a really nice area overall by the track too.

If you were me and looking to attend 1 NASCAR short track race next year.

Would you go to Bristol night, or playoff Martinsville?

Right now I'd go Bristol night race. Until the car sees some modifications I can't see the racing being great at Martinsville to be honest. I was at the April race and it was by far the worst race I've ever attended. Big tires, a 5 speed transmission & big brakes have made that place almost impossible to pass. At least with the speeds and multiple grooves we should see Bristol being entertaining as hell

Absolutely! Martinsville is basically like a county fairgrounds with the campgrounds being literally right by the track

Tracks I've been to with my quick thoughts:
Texas...best fan experience, y'all know the track
Indianapolis...great experience, okay racing
COTA...not fan friendly, good racing
Bristol night race...great experience and great racing
Darlington...just as great as Bristol
Kansas...it was okay
Las Vegas...great garage access, okay racing
Richmond...meh
Watkins Glen...just as great as Bristol and Darlington
Phoenix...great to see the championship, great racing
So I guess I've been to 10 tracks...next up is Martinsville this fall, I'm very excited.

IMO, you can't go wrong with either, hopefully the test this week helps the racing at Martinsville

Interesting to hear COTA wasn’t that fan friendly, then again road courses are a different animal so idk.

Great explanations. I will say living in Charleston I’m blessed to have Charlotte, Darlington, Bristol and Martinsville all within a 4:30 drive

You can only take in one unopened bottle of water and their concessions are very expensive. Parking sucks and so does getting in and out. But I do like the racing and Austin is a cool city.

Thanks for the advice. That sucks a little bit actually, some of that stuff really does matter.

I will do a review in a bit more in depth.

Las Vegas- great garage access, good racing, parking has been great, only issue is water.

Auto Club Speedway - great racing, parking was great in 2013.

Sonoma Raceway - average racing, average amenities/parking, it deserves a Cup race but I wish Sonoma would get a spark somehow. I really hope Sonoma can get to a Watkins Glen level.

Kansas Speedway - great racing, average fan experience at the track besides Hollywood Casino/restaurant.

Phoenix Raceway - decent racing, fan experience after the renovations is top notch, parking was awesome.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway - underrated racing, the amenities needs a facelift like Richmond, parking was okish

Richmond Raceway - good racing, fan experience is top notch.

World Wide Technology Raceway - good racing, fan experience/amenities was overrated if you ask me and Gateway needs to fix some things next year.

Michigan International Speedway - good racing, fan experience was good but not great here.

Again, I’m being really picky and trying to help as best as possible. It could be a different experience for some.

Also saw rumors on Twitter of safer barriers being added during spring repave. Cup All Star Race 2023, let’s go. But in all seriousness I’ll peruse this episode soon to get context of convo.

Please just move the All-Star race to North Wilkesboro for good and bring back NASCAR Enshrinemwnt week with the Hall of Fame and Coke 600.

That said I’m only thinking from a fan perspective and not B2B relationships that Dallas & Fort Worth might be attractive to many sponsors.

I'm pretty sure TMS will have the All Star one more year, them I think it moves. I also think that will leave TMS with only 1 weekend going forward unless something positive happens with the quality of racing. Or condos.

1 NASCAR weekend, 1 IndyCar weekend will help the track’s reputation from a racing standpoint if they can find another event like a country music festival or EDM to offset some lost revenue.

The stand alone IndyCar weekend this year sucked. No promotion from the track, March race, attendance was meh and no scanner reception unless you manually searched or had knowledge of a driver's frequency. It was weird weekend.

Yeah, I wish they’d bring Stadium Super Trucks like the track did in 2017.

They did have AMA Flat Track during IndyCar weekend, but I don’t think it was promoted well either.

North Wilkesboro for the All Star and Iowa Speedway instead of Kansas Spring or a Richmond race would be doing the lord’s work.

If two NASCAR-owned tracks were to lose a date, where would they go? A good number of them are already spoken for with two dates. Could Fontana be ready for a short track playoff race next fall? They’re not doubling up on Chicago so that pretty much leaves Michigan and Homestead for the other date, unless they open Iowa back up under their own management again. Maybe take a flyer on another Coliseum/Chicago Street type of idea.

An NW all-star race would be a logistical nightmare for all parties involved.

Maybe after the revamping of the track, maybe? Until then, idk about it. I think having the AS in North Carolina would be a big weight off of teams shoulders. Car races well at CMS as well, but we shall see.

What makes NW anymore of a logistical nightmare when they put in a few million like they’re pushing to, compared to some other tracks.

Dale Jr & Rodney Childers tweeted it but I don’t understand why they’re wasting money on the repave instead of fixing infrastructure.

After those dollars are spent, will the facility accommodate parties of 20 - 30 guests invited by a couple of dozen multi-million dollar corporate sponsors? Will it have catering / bar service capability? Will the garage area accommodate tours?

Or will teams spread large blue plastic tarps out on the grass to make these people feel welcome?

I cant and wont speculate on Wilkesboro's viability of hosting a Cup race or All Star race until the repave and rest of renovations are complete. I'll just say what I say with the CarsTour race there was magic and the atmosphere looked to be electric, really cool deal that was. Whatever is done with the upcoming schedule, I just hope and pray no more road courses are added, I think I am about done with the expansion of that concept at the Cup Level.

Richmond and Kansas seem pretty locked into 2 races in 2023 based of their website. I appreciate a good rumor in this thread though
