Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

What makes NW anymore of a logistical nightmare when they put in a few million like they’re pushing to, compared to some other tracks.
It's a two lane road on the backroads of Wilkes county.

When Jr was there, people waited in line for well over an hour trying to get into the track. When I was there the first two nights, it was a massive line to get into the track. Everything will be done in time, which is why they have this track revival going on, to get a gauge of fan interest. It will be solved over time, which is why the track will not be ready for full on action until 2023 or 24.

It's a pretty area with farms and Cows that like to Moo back to you, but they have to make sure everything is in line. I hope it is a success because being out near the Blue Ridge Mountains is A1, I'm a sucker for good looking back drops and the surrounding area. I'm curious to see what they do in terms of seating capacity as well when the rebuild comes about. A lot of potential is there, we have to all of the smoke clear though.

I get that two lane roads into tracks are dog****, but it isn’t much different at Michigan or New Hampshire I thought. I haven’t been to North Wilkes but I’m willing to wait in traffic there if they can fix things.

Think 24 is the earliest to speculate about a Cup return in some form. Renovations are taking place all through next year, I thought I read the Speedway was going to be closed all next year to allow said renovations to take place. I also thought I saw Kansas has a contract for 2 cup races for the foreseeable future, due to the casino being built there. I just want to see next year’s schedule already, I can’t remember it ever being released this late.

The Kansas requires 2 Cup races contract crap I thought was something from 2011 or 2012.

Michigan has multiple routes that flow in and they contraflow the roads to be one way before and after the race. Mid Ohio & Eldora are probably the most remote I've ever been to, absolutely in the middle of nowhere. At least you have numerous towns and what not around MIS for food and groceries

Getting out of Michigan wasn’t the problem. The inflow was terrible regardless of whether I picked the wrong route from Detroit & Ann Arbor.

I actually think races with backed up parking tend to be better usually though so. 🤷‍♂️

I've always felt like the first 6-8 races of the season should be announced by August 1. That gives people 6 months to plan out. I'm certain a schedule announced October 1 rather than August 15 or so negatively affects attendance for the early part of the season.

Yeah, people need time to plan out Las Vegas, California, Phoenix, etc.

I booked my hotel for Atlanta a couple months ago...now I just hope I guessed the right date!

Probably a Truck race, but I do hope by 2024 they have the All-Star weekend at North Wilkesboro, leading into the 600 weekend.

Not only the repave but every building will comedown and the stands will get a face lift and the supports will probably be replaced on some. New concessions, and a Covered garage eventually and I'm Sure some suites will be added.

I get all of that but I just don’t get why they’re tearing out a very abrasive racing surface that puts on good racing and doesn’t appear to have any weepers or potholes like Martinsville lol.

Tracks like California, Atlanta, Rockingham, Darlington are just like that so I really don’t get that part of it regarding the asphalt.

I'n not sure they want to take a chance on a heavier car with more HP damaging the track the weekend of the race. Its being proactive

Oh **** I need to head to Charlotte next year. They need at least 50,000 seats, bring in some temporary seating.

Pretty funny that a quarter of a century later they’re giving North Wilkesboro a Texas date back.
Supposedly FOX Sports wanted this.

All I have to say, if you're going, get there early because this is a pretty significant shift for the sport. I honestly cannot believe they are going through with this.

Coming at me fast in all directions, I’m in shock as well this is happening. I also think this was my BOLD prediction for this year.

FOX was reported to want to start rotating the ASR months ago but I bet no one really thought to do this until the Revival races, especially the CARS Tour race, and seeing that the surface wasn’t as bad as expected. That they’ve cancelled the repave and dirt races says they took that reception and put this all together pretty quickly.
