Then why not go to Bowman-Gray other than less seats? It would be the same track.
I dunno I wish I was apart of the NASCAR Scheduling committee because I have a few ideas of my own but..... thats not a question for me to answer I'm afraid. Then why not go to Bowman-Gray other than less seats? It would be the same track.
Hauler parking. 36 pit stalls. A pit road. Facilities suitable for sponsors, B to B partners, etc. Then why not go to Bowman-Gray other than less seats? It would be the same track.
Was rumored to be my guess be tomorrow they seem to do stuff tuesdaysisnt the schedule coming out tomorrow or are my wires crossed?

What ever happened to the outcry that Nascar was stale, had too many larger 1.5 tracks and the ratings and attendence was dropping like a rock? It was time to redefine what Nascar is about. Nascar under new management promised more road racing AND short tracks. California running the All Star race on a short track (that they have done in the past) instead of Charlotte is fulfilling another promise. The majority of fans asked for it and it is getting done. It is going to be smash mouth racing for a million bucksI don't understand the perceived value of having an exhibition featuring something that isn't representative of what the Cup Series is all about. If you believe in your product, then put it out there in its natural form, not some tarted up gimmicky representation of your product. While it COULD be entertaining in a can't not look at the disaster kind of way, I don't see ANY way this represents the best the sport has to offer. I can just imagine the pitch: "Like what you saw tonight? Good, now we are going to give thirty-six weeks of something quite different".
The superbowl nor the olympics are taking place at Bowman Gray. Then why not go to Bowman-Gray other than less seats? It would be the same track.
USC plays football thereWell don’t be surprised if the fan response there is “….huh? Oh yeah…I might go but it’s too (fill in the blank)“. Seating after the last renovation in 2018 accommodates almost 77K. What kind of track will they install? Isn’t it still used for soccer? Would this be a flat track oval?
Clearly, it’s time for a visit from @NASCAR ApologistIt’s kinda silly that NASCAR is putting all this effort into a new track in LA when just 50 miles away sits a highly anticipated new short track already under construction in Fontana
The “new market” line is pure bull****.
Bowman Gray would not be ideal in FebruaryThe superbowl nor the olympics are taking place at Bowman Gray.
This isnt about race quality or logistics. This is about exposure at the expense of the teams.

you will have to ask them that. The not THAT track continues to apply. The answer is to double down on what DOES work, not replace things that don't work with more wild ass grabs out of left field. I agree with Chex, why not wait until California Speedway is done and put on a race at a REAL track? And once again, I DARE somebody to mention cost savings when they're pulling stunts like this.
FTFYBowman Gray would not be ideal
I cannot find much info anywhere now, but I swear I thought I read that the reconfiguration was delayed until one more race there next season. I could be wrong and kind of hope so.It’s kinda silly that NASCAR is putting all this effort into a new track in LA when just 50 miles away sits a highly anticipated new short track already under construction in Fontana

Edit: Found the post:
My hope is that the Coliseum race is used to generate hype for the Fontana renovation with an all-out promotional blitz the week leading up to the race. The reconfigured short track should be a real nice bull ring, and it could be difficult to draw attention to that with the one speedway race left that far away from the population center. It’s kinda silly that NASCAR is putting all this effort into a new track in LA when just 50 miles away sits a highly anticipated new short track already under construction in Fontana

It’s official
Only if Richmond loses a date.As so it should. Now add Iowa
As so it should. Now add Iowa
I’d prefer 2 for Richmond as is as well as including IowaAs so it should. Now add Iowa
The Super Bowl is in LA this February, maybe they are trying to use that to get more interest in the sport.
They have done that before with the trucks and Indy at Texas. Good point. I think they are going to have more races like that since Penske is at the wheel. He needs to get his viewership up for the Indycars.NASCAR Indy Double Header?
Literally the same track.Only if Richmond loses a date.
IMSA style, they're running at the same timeNASCAR Indy Double Header?
Super Bowl is in LA next year.Does anybody else think they're going to Hollywood because Jordan and Pitbull?
The participating NFL teams will be given tickets on opposite sides of the track. At the stage break, they'll scrimmage - two hand touch only. Can someone explain to me how that would/could work? The NFL is a behemoth that sucks ALL the air out of any room they walk into. When the media is in the Super Bowl frenzy mode, they aren't paying attention to ANYTHING else, and the NFL sure as hell isn't going to assist in anything that draws five seconds of attention away from THEM. I think they could have the race at half time of the Super Bowl, and the football obsessed media wouldn't even look up from their cell phones and laptops to see what was happening.
kinda funny. The Indy cars would be like hockey pucks out thereIMSA style, they're running at the same time
They could build a stage in the infield, have Pitty doing flip flops during the stage breaksDoes anybody else think they're going to Hollywood because Jordan and Pitbull?
