Is Denny Hamlin the new Kyle Busch?

Well we know there is one Joey fan who is pulling for him to win. And there are a lot more pulling for him to dump Denny . I will be watching , for sure .

I hope you're kidding. Mom and Dad financed his early racing. At age 24 Gibbs put him in a NW car for a year. No wins, and he gets a cup ride the following year. HTF is that clawing your way up to Cup?
Damn tootin.

Not to change the subject but I am anyway. Kyle Larson's parents have been on TV publicly saying that they told Kyle that they could only afford to finance his Go Kart racing..after that he was on his own. Might want to file that away for future reference. As far as Hamlin goes, he has always seemed to me as a spoiled rich kid when he came into cup and he drove a Toyota so he never has been a favorite. I thought Kyle Bush acted like a spoiled rich kid too, but I found out he wasn't a rich kid, so what do I know eh?

I really dont see such hatred for Denny. He has never came off as being the extremes that I am seeing people post about. Every other sport you dont see players say how they are "mediocre" or "sort of decent" at their game. Why would anyone expect a driver to not have a bit of confidence in themselves?
Also, for reference, Denny isnt my driver, im just not seeing him be to these extremes

Yeah and countless Late Model victories. How many drivers make their way to NASCAR's top ranks with no wins in anything or a handful of ARCA and K&N wins? Kasey Kahne had never won a Nationwide race before he got promoted to Cup... is he a talentless hack who was given a ride? What about Danica Patrick's 0 career wins on her way to IndyCar?

There are tons of drivers in NASCAR's top ranks that went from go karts or legends straight in to K&N, had two top ten finishes and suddenly have a top NASCAR ride (hyperbole, but still)

Andy, Andy, Andy....Kasey and Danica never said they clawed his way into the Cup series.

Denny did say that, and it sure isn't true, as you just proved. Lots of guys got into Cup on the fast path while teams tried to find the next Jeff Gordon. We don't hear them whining the "clawing my way up" BS line Denny spouts.

I'm glad you know more about racing in this region and how these guys don't claw their way.

I should hope Danica never says that???

At least even with some daddy money Joey won a K&N championship and NNS races before he came to cup full time and that really only happened beacause Tony left suddenly or he probably would have stayed there and won a championship before coming to cup. I still crack up thinking about Denny saying Brad won't be around for very long in 2009.

And when Hamlin made it to Cup, he puts up results that merit him staying in Cup.

remember when brad k and hamlin got into it years ago. Brad was driving the 88 and I don't think he had won a NW race yet. hamlin gets out of the car and starts talking about how drivers in the NW series with "no cup" experience need to essentially get out of the way. from that day on I thought denny was an arrogant jerk. well that kid with "no cup" experience is now a cup champion before denny. denny is a cry baby and very arrogant. I think people see through it.

joey does put up with way too much. in a situation like that, I would have parked my car and blocked the drivers door of denny's car and the butt whoopin would have been on, and that is if I hadn't already put the 11 car into the wall hard enough to not be able to continue. I hate it when the crew gets in the way. I say lets see them settle this on their own. the last fight I saw was at texas with the jeffs. no crewman around. I think everyone knows joey doesn't have it in him to really settle the score so that is why they rattle him. I predict it continues until something is done about it.

:punkrocke Sir you pretty much got into my head and said EXACTLY how I feel about this whole situation even better than I could of..well done!

Kahne won the nationwide race at homestead in 2003 not sure if he had been announced as Elliott's replacement yet but that was before he ran cup. This has been kkfans unnecessary Kahne trivia

Almost postive that he had already signed a deal with Dodge because Ford tried to block the move, or keep Kahne. The dispute lasted awhile that is why I believe he signed prior to Homestead.

That was hardly a fight but I guess they at least tried. I've never seen an actual fight in Nascar. People throwing helmets, pushing, shoving, grabbing yes, but I've never seen an actual one on one, toe to toe, bare knuckle fight and never will as long as crews feel the need to jump in on other people's business.

Well you have to let the other driver get out of the car. The protocol seems to be you can talk to the other driver but if it takes a turn for the worse (as it apparently did with Logano/Hamlin) the crew will defend their driver until he has an opportunity to exit the car. The only exception to this I know of is the time Jimmy Spencer punched Kurt Busch while he was still inside his car. Kurt apparently tried to avoid the much larger, angry driver until Mr Excitement finally got his hands on Busch.

Yes, it was a well known fact he would be replacing Elliott in 2003 before he won the Homestead race.

Hell, Jimmie Johnson signed with Hendrick Motorsports, in 2000, to run Cup part-time in 2001 and full-time in 2002. At the time, he had recorded seven top-ten finishes, no top-five finishes and led all of 24 laps in his Nationwide career. Basically, his only asphalt racing accomplishments were in ASA. Did he not earn his ride Fender? :XXROFL:

As far as the original question.....
Is Denny Hamlin the new Kyle Busch?

No, Denny is just an ass. Kyle is Badass.

Denny is a head case who currently is allowing Sliced Bread to work his way in there. Kyle, he's getting back on track winning races.

lol Andy, I need a virtual jack hammer to get thru that titanium cranium of yours. (hmmm...titanium cranium....I like that)

Did JJ EVER whine about clawing his way up to cup like Denny does???????????

I think Denny was dumb to tweet that Joey 'genius' insult to the world after Daytona. Now Mr Bigtongue has to live with the results.

Welcome home Dan.

Add Carl and Kyle , and you got to lose 3 chasers , who?

It would be very hard to think of that many drivers that would be left out of the Chase in order for Joey to make it.

In my opinion,

Keselowski, Junior, Johnson, Bowyer, Biffle, Hamlin, Kahne, Edwards, Ky Busch, Kenseth, Harvick, Truex, Gordon, and Stewart are always almost the ones to compete for the 12 spots. Obviously someones got to miss. But then, at the same level as Logano, you have McMurray, Menard, Newman, and maybe even Montoya who are all trying to be one of the couple sleepers that always seem to sneak their way into the Chase. It's difficult to choose 1, let alone 3, that would miss the Chase ahead of Logano.
