Jeff Gordon confronts no neck

Yeah I guess Newman was driving for position in case of caution, but even with a caution Newman would of gotten the lucky dog and still been able to make up spots on the restart, has it stood there was nobody in front of him and he wasn’t making up two spots

As a lucky dog you start as last car on lead lap,
Had a caution come out, more options, stay out, take two tires......didn't happen but none the less
It's a strategy that could have played out.

Several years ago when Newman was running with Harvick for the championship, on the final restart.
Newman thought about divebombing Harvick and taking him out

He should have done it. Whatever it takes to WIN especially a championship!

Kyle knows this, Chase is being too nice (can we say old #6 driver)

Keselowski wrecked cars to get his first win
Harvick wrecked the field at Talladega to advance (we know he did)
Newman punted Larson to advance
Earnhardt did it all the time

If you want it take, then don't apologize, That's racing!!!!

Ryan Newman doesn't owe anybody jack ... he was racing to stay in the championship hunt. I also didn't notice him do anything that was out of line in regards to how he raced the #24. In my opinion Chase blew his own win .. failed to block, or even change grooves to really thwart Kyle. As for Jeff Gordon .. he should have kept his mouth shut.

Newman is newman, he holds up faster cars on purpose, which piss's the other drivers off. "other drivers" will pay him back and I do remember him taking out Larson just to make the chase and go out on round one. He's a **** nozzle and always will be. NO Neck, NO Class, No intelligence period. Hopefully, no job next year. I'm a Chevy fan and wish he drove a toyoder, he's an idiot.
Before you start ranting about another person PLEASE CHECK your FACTS.
Newman, the no win chase driver made it to the final at Homestead. Drivers with many wins didn't.
I would say Newman was the smarter driver.

It's not as if Newman was blocking him, he was just slowing him down aero wise, Chase didn't really get close enough to Newman to pass him until 2 or 3 to go if I remember right. Chase could have moved around and easily moved up some to hurt Kyle aerodynamically as well. Not sure why he didn't unless his car just wasn't good at all out of the bottom groove. Kyle wasn't making time up top when Chase had a clean track in front of him, he was maintaining a little over a half second when he did.

It is what it is, I'm still bummed about it because he's been close so many times and something always seems to happen whether it be circumstance or his own fault. We've seen plenty of both. This time though literally everything lined up perfectly for him so it makes it a little harder to forget. He'll get his first win, it just might not be in the 24 at this point.

The idea that Newman should have moved over or that he somehow did Elliott is complete nonsense.

Any racecar driver who acted differently than Newman did should be fired. There are plenty of people out there that want to race.

Some people are really allowing their imaginations to run wild here and color their perceptions of this (non) event. In reality, Jeff Gordon made a sarcastic comment toward Ryan Newman. Newman walked toward Gordon and questioned what Gordon had said. Gordon explained, Newman told him to be careful, Gordon walked away. I think this would be allowed at the Westminster Dog Show, let alone NASCAR.

If this were say 2004 and NASCAR were still in fashion with sports media, this would be the sort of nonsense that Skip Bayless or Stephen A. Smith would spend a week yelling about and rehashing when the figures involved had moved on within 30 minutes.

Newman walked toward Gordan in a hulking manner looking to intimidate a smaller guy into submission because he made him look bad during an interview. Seriously, that's what you expect children to do on the playground. You don't expect a grow man to act that way. If I was his sponsor I wouldn't have been happy that the name of my company was on his fire suit. That isn't the image I'd want to convey to the public.

Hulking manner? Looked like he was just walking to me.

Well, Chase went that route to get his first Truck Series win, and was VILIFIED for it. I would say a message was sent that day that may still be with him.u ok

Newman is a racecar driver.

You wouldn't understand and there is no "a" in Gordon.

The after race with w JG:

Newman can be a pain in the ass on the track, but he gives 100% and you can't fault that. Ryan was not the reason Chase lost. I was more perturbed at some of the other back markers that seemingly didn't give much courtesy to the leader, but that's racing. If you want to win races, you have to find away to deal with it.

I can identify :D

Jeff Gordon on his fiery exchange with Ryan Newman after the Dover race when Gordon made a comment on Newman making it tough for Chase Elliott to pass him: "Obviously a lot of disappointment and you get caught up in that emotion. I raced with Ryan Newman for many years and he's a hard guy to pass. I was a little frustrated there. but after he and I had our little exchange and just the talk we had shortly after that, he had a lot on the line and he was doing everything he needed to do to try to make it to the next round. We laughed about it. It's all good. I probably from now on will just walk by a situation like that. "I thought that was what I was doing. But it didn't work out that way".
