Kaulig penalty upheld

Kaulig said they helped Hendrick replace the louvers Nascar took. It isn't like Kaulig didn't know what happened and just sat there if they thought they had problems. This whole thing is nothing but a Klingon mind meld.
Vulcan. Vulcans mind meld, not Klingons. Klingons don't need to mind meld, people just tell them what they want to know and hope they're allowed to keep at least one kidney.

I think I am turning into a Feringee if I try to make sense out of these penalties.

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense. They take cars at random, it used to be first and second and a third at random

Oh it makes sense to them. You piss us, off your car is getting randomly selected and we'll keep looking until we find something to hammer you with

Just another case of NASCAR acting like the local short track. "We will do whatever the hell we want, and there will be no transparency about the process".

At least they are consistent with that, isn't that what everybody has been asking for?!?!? :)

In keeping the inconsistencies consistent nascar asked the appeal panel to take away the points penalty

The appeals board rescinded the Hendrick points penalty but kept the Kaulig penalty, so NASCAR asked Bill Mullins to rescind the points penalty for Kaulig at the final appeal so the penalties for the same infraction would be equal.

What's the problem with that?

Some of course are looking for another excuse to whine and complain. Total random selection at Nascar's convienence does increase the surprise factor for the teams knowing that Nascar won't automaticly take the first, second place and just one random car and that their car could be suspect at any time.
The whiners red meat will be to scream unfair, they're bully's, favoritism, etc. It's already happening in some of the above posts.

That one appeals board felt the Hendrick penalty was too stiff, but a second board felt the same penalty for Kaulig was appropriate for the same offense. But without transcripts, we won't know why different boards reached different conclusions.

I'll take it nobody is reading the article.
Okay, I've reviewed the entire thread and don't see any articles or reposts I missed. I'm still unclear on why NASCAR couldn't reduce the Kaulig penalty on its own, without needing a reviewer to approve.

Then why were they pissed at HMS and took the cars for "random" to get some point on them?
