I love Schrader. We had some good times and I wish they could get him out of the car and in the booth but he loves driving too much. When you listen to him speak in this video you are hearing the words of someone who runs a race track and knows what NASCAR has to go through every damn day. He just told like it is.

Just as happens in racing, I have no real issue with HER, but many of the fans and all the hype they create has just become insufferable. I have just never understood that insane off the charts level of fandom for anyone or any thing. It's Elvis and the Beatles all over again, and I don't get THAT either. I could list 50 acts acts I would rather listen to then any of the three I mentioned. I know 75 year old people that act like the Beatles were the second coming of Jesus, and they have like MAYBE five songs that I think are above average. My thumb drive with my 2,000 favorite songs has three Elvis, two Beatles and one Taylor Swift song.

Today I learned this guy has a horrible taste in music...I don't know which is worst, claiming the Beatles and Elvis aren't in his top 50 or admitting to listening to Taylor Swift...

I didn't say I listened to Taylor Swift, I said I own ONE Taylor Swift song. I don't care for most of her music, but she IS incredibly talented. And yes, I think the Eagles and the Doobie Brothers are ten times better than the Beatles. The Fab Four were VERY talented, but most of their songs actually suck. Elvis was a GREAT singer, but the body of really good work is kind of spotty. He went a lot of years producing little to no new music. Two of my very favorites were among his last; Suspicious Minds and Kentucky Rain.

The Beatles were just a boy band and Elvis stole most of his music. I do agree there is nothing special about Taylor Swift.

I stumbled across the video one day and liked it, so I downloaded the song. There are probably 50 other artists where I own a grand total of ONE of their songs. I don't think that qualifies me as a listener or a fan of theirs.

If you say so. :) Many of those one off songs I have I couldn't name one other song that artist does. If you held a gun to my head, I MIGHT be able to come up with four Taylor Swift titles. I am MUCH MORE a fan of songs than artists, and I draw from virtually ever genre of music except for rap and opera, both of which make me want to pierce my ear drums with an ice pick.
