I'll likely miss the cup race this weekend. I'm about the only person who doesn't have a DVR in 2013.

Maybe it's just me but I think this is one of the very few interesting 1.5-mile tracks. Bumpy and a little oddly-shaped.

This track is really cool. I love the way it is laid out and it lends to some dang good racing.

ok, I'm in. I got a VHS and a wad of blank tapes. I got it so bad, I watch them off season to help with withdrawals.

Clips from WWofSports --- 1958 Daytona Grand National, 1959 Daytona 500, 1960 Daytona 500. Also, 1969 Rebel 400 at Darlington. These were never made available to the public. I got them from a dear friend who had contacts.
Personally, I really didn't become hooked until I saw the '79 5oo.
And, I was only 12 in 1958 --- racing wasn't on my radar, yet. LOL

I was at Darlington in 69, unfortunately i don't remember much as I was 6 at the time.LOL
I do have a picture with Bobby Issac, got a pat on the head from Richard Petty, and met David Pearson. If I only knew how big that was at the time, Dang!! :rolleyes:

I had a homemade DVR I built myself (home theatre PC), but then I upgraded to digital cable with a cable box and the solution to get my HTPC to work with that was so asinine and I refused to pay the cable company for their DVR so, I don't have one either. It's about the only high-techno gizmo gadget I don't have.

Yeah, I've checked out that dude's channel before. Actually a lot of cool old races on YouTube from all sorts of series and eras.

OK, now it makes sense.

With tapes from that far back I was beginning to think that you might of had some kind of early version VCR equipped with vacuum tubes or something.
