Keselowski Providing Today's LOLZ ...

Yeah, vaguely remember that, but Tony would tell his own Mother to **** off as an act of love. Kez is more of the good time Charlie who wasn't feeling it IMO.

I have met Tony but know him but I do know Nelson and can say most assuredly that Tony would not hurt a hair on his mother's head. Now Nelson...........that might be a different story.

I didn't see anything wrong with what JG said during the broadcast.

Just curious though, do any other sports have network commentators that are still actively involved in the sport?

Not that I am aware of and commentators like Troy Aikman and Phil Simms show no bias toward their former teams nor do any other national broadcasters affiliated with the NFL and NHL. I think most stick and ball leagues would consider having a commentator who had ownership of a team in the league as a gross conflict of interest.

Skoal, I'm surprised to see you stoop to such shallow, inconsequential criteria to judge and comment on Nascar drivers. I am aware that some segments of the fan base regard certain drivers as "pretty boys" while others are scorned for their physical appearance. I'm just surprised to see that here.

You have to wonder though if the owners have been trying to find Jeff Gordon look a likes . Jimmie , Kasey , Chase, Casey , Larson , etc, etc , I wish they would make the names on the uniforms larger . :)

Does anybody reckon that some producer or the other put that bug in the announcers ears and Jeff happened to be the one slated to say it? They'd obviously planned it if they had video and everything. I'd be willing to bet that the announcers didn't even remember the previous incident prior to being told during the broadcast or right before. I haven't seen the broadcast yet so, I don't really know when the other incident was shown.

I thought the chit chat of how the Penske drivers looked was satire on a slow day and not a genuine scathing indictment. Truth be told it doesn't matter to me what any of the drivers look like as I watch for their on track prowess and both Penske guys are very good.

Good to know.

I think that if Jeff didn't come across as somewhat biased, he would be disingenuous. That would be worse. It doesn't bother me at all when he is pulling for Chase or the Hendrick guys. Not a bit. The problem is that a guy in the garage now has an issue with it. This is the line Jeff could not cross. Lose credibility, and you lose those dimly lit interviews portraying a driver's internal struggles, blah, blah, blah. I hate that **** anyway, so Jeff is good to go in my world. Still love the straight up Kez stuff though.

The emotional crap sells. Half the time I'm unfortunate enough to see what my wife watches someone is on the flat screen speaking of their troubles and most of those are crying. Hell, it's even gotten into the cooking competitions.

Good ole Bucky Brad inserting his foot into his mouth again. He really knows how to win friends and influence people...

@JeffGordonWeb

If any car is penalized and @NASCARONFOX has video to analyze it, I will give my honest unbiased opinion. Period!
Well sure, Jeff, of course you will. That is your job. But if you are factually incorrect, don't be surprised if the target of your analysis takes exception. And if the penalty concerns a Hendrick driver, some will doubt just how unbiased your opinion really is.

I suspect that Kez's motivation to speak was to stand up for his crew, which is very laudable, but he went a little too far in choice of words.

Gordon had a recent comparator for the 2 team's move. It occurred during a race he was actually in. Why Keselowski or anyone else has a problem with that, what he said about it or the way he said it is beyond me.

That's why he got the gig.

Standing up for your crew who clearly tried to cheat and tried to play dumb when caught red handed is laudable?

What Earth am I living on...

Gordon said the crew was penalized twice (Las Vegas and Pocono) for the same infraction, which was false. What's hard to understand about that?

I imagine they have a library of video showing examples of how teams stretch the rules. Some of the recent rules seem to be based on observations by fans and the TV cameras. It shows good preparation that they can access video related to recent rule changes. You can bet that they have examples of four lug nut wheel changes waiting for when someone to gets caught.

That doesn't really have anything to do with what I said considering Brad's going to bat for his crew started the moment he exited the car. The Brad/Gordon stuff didn't begin until the dust settled and he got word of it all.

So I guess maybe he was defending them on separate occasions for separate occasions, but I was referring to post race. He knew they pulled a shady move, no need to treat us like we're too stupid to know any better. We have eyeballs.

I have to turn MRN off when they do those Kim Coon features....the ones with the corny music playing in the background. Horrid....but MRN's "talent" feels like they are breaking broadcasting ground with everything they do. They're terrible. Give me the straight up PRN broadcast any day.

Brad decides to get into it with Jeff Gordon ...

They bag on the 42 for lug nuts but nothing on the 2 for blatant cheating. Why isn't Brad squeaking about the biased discrimination?

  • Pocono Post-race penalties and warnings: NASCAR has announced penalties and warnings following the Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway on June 6th.
#42-Kyle Larson was given a P3 penalty for violations of Sections 12-1; 10.11.3.4 a; 12.5.3.4.1 p [Lug nut(s) not properly installed]. Crew chief (Chad Johnston) has been fined $20,000, suspended from all NASCAR Series Championship Points Events through June 15 and placed on NASCAR probation through Dec. 31. The violation was found during post-race inspection.
    The following warnings were issued:
#7-Regan Smith (4), & #83-DiBenedetto (2) failed laser inspection twice in pre-race inspection. The teams were given written warnings
#1-McMurray (1) Failed template inspection twice in pre-race inspection. The team was given a written warning.
#43-Almirola (1) failed laser inspection twice in pre-qualifying inspection. The team was given a written warning.
#10-Patrick (1) & #95-Dillong (2) failed template inspection twice in pre-qualifying inspection. The teams were given written warnings.

The 2 was penalized. Didn't you see the race? Or the clip posted above on this thread. Nascar has a specified penalty for that infraction, and it was enforced.

You pick your poison. If you choose to cheat with lug nuts knowing the penalty is loss of a CC and get caught don't complain when the other guy cheats knowing the penalty to get caught is only a pass through. Pretty smart choice IMO.

Loosing a crew chief for a race hasn't been much of a penalty in the past (team results tend to continue at previous levels). You still get the win and into the Chase (I've only remember NASCAR revoking a win once in the last 30 years). So the risk is worth the penalty.

Keselowski is right about Jeff Gordon being biased towards the Hendrick drivers. He's been great in the booth but his bias towards Chase Elliott is nauseating. No worse than Darrell Waltrip's bias towards Kyle Busch though.

I cant argue with that, but at this point any commentary about Chase Elliott should be glowing. It has been a great start and the kid is running great races and doing almost everything right.

Every time I try to see the positives and pull for Brad he says something so incredibly stupid that I just cannot respect him. The guy better hope Penske keeps him around for the whole duration of his career, because the way he continues to talk like this about the wrong people will not help him get another ride easily despite his talent.

I agree Brad sez crazy things. But his driving is solid and he has pulled off some great drives at crucial times. I doubt that he ever leaves Penske, but if it ever happens, he would find another quality ride. Too much talent to ignore.

So Kez to the 5 confirmed???
