Kyle Busch Speeding Ticket

The N.C speeding laws are laughable at best, due to it being NASCRAP country...Until one of these guys kills themselve or some innocent person. He should have been cuffed and hauled in. Then had to post a BOND .

Here in Wi...anything over 30+ mph has the same points (6) as a D.U.I.

Right now he is at 7 points if you use the N.C. POINT SYSTEM...

The same here in VA....not too many days go by without someone having to be scraped up off the road for driving too fast. Anything over 80 MPH here is considered reckless driving and a conviction is 6 points.

But a bond is nothing to Busch or anyother driver in NASCAR. Look how much penalties are for things they o on the track...

Reckless driving willfull and wanton, speed in excess of 140 mph is what my ticket says. I got to spend the night at Palmetto sub-station #32 courtesy of the FHP until I was bailed out the next day by friends.

My case wasn't heard in traffic court, my "offense" was deemed to be criminal so off to criminal court I went. All in all it cost me a little over 6 grand ($6,000.00) in 1969 dollars for bail, lawyer, court costs, and fine. Also repairs to the FHP po-po car, seems their eggspurt driver wasn't.

And 90 days in the Dade County Stockade,,,,,suspended <whew>

He's going to get a walk in ticket?

Update....Wifey was in the car with him....looks like shrub is going to get his azz-whoppin from his father in law for putting his daughter in harms way..lol..

Kyle Busch's lack of maturity shines again. Just when it seems as though he's growing up, he does something stupid again. I'd think that with his connections to the sport that he might be able to find a place to take his test drive without endangering others.

Agreed, you'd think that he'd be able to rent Charlotte Motors spoeedway for a couple of hours and just let loose on the track.

If he was my son-in-law, I'd def. be taking him out to behind the shed to give him some "growing up" pains.

Kyle's 26. Like some of you in this thread, I've certainly done some stupid things while driving around at that young age or earlier. At times, you think you're invincible.

Kyle's lucky he didn't meet the same fate as Rob Moroso, a promising, rising cup star in 1990 who was killed in an automobile crash in North Carolina. Seems he was doing 75 mph around a curve that had a posted speed limit of 30 mph. And this was just hours after racing in a Cup race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. So sad.

This about sums it up for all of us:

Moroso was also drunk.

Busch had no business driving that fast on that road, ive drove it a few times myself, it's a curvy road. Stupid is as stupid does.

What do you think they should have done? Its not an offense he can be put in jail for, unless he refuses to sign the ticket, and until he goes to court and appears in front of a judge.

If he were in VA and was in front of the right judge, he'd be looking a going to jail for day equal to how many MPH's over 100 he did.

There's a lot of states that over 100mph is a go to jail offense. Other than that I can't believe what most of the posts on here are saying. Apparently most on this board don't know how to have fun driving a fast car or have the confidence in their own driving skills. He also could have had a wreck going 30mph that could have killed him, when it's your time it's your time. From most of the posts in this thread I would say the people that are bi†chin about what Busche did are probably the same kind of people that drive slow in the left lane on the freeway.

I dont know what the law is there but here if your car is going twice the legal speed limit or your pulled over going over 100 mph you go straight to jail and your license is revoked for about 3 months.

Pay attention here. This car is not your average Corolla. I am sure that it has little problem going twice the speed limit of any corner you can find on any public road.

Yea, god forbid we actually hold Kyle Busch accountable when he acts like a jackass, what is wrong with us?! I mean it's not like he could've crashed into another car...another person....or a deer. Oh no... because surely a car going 145mph can stop on a dime!

Please...get over yourself. Busch acted like a jackass, and should be called on it. This man has the power to rent out any race track he wants to test out his new Lexus, and instead, he decides to risk not only his life, but the life of his wife and other people who share the road.

I wonder how many people would be making excuses for Busch if he wrecked into another car, or gods forbid, hit another person while driving at 128mph.

There certainly would be more reason to be upset about it IF that were the case. It wasn't. Which is my point. He was caught driving recklessly and will be punished based on the laws of NC. That's all. Some guy actually sent off a letter to the cop shop there *****ing about the way it was handled. Really? Who is he to state how they should have handled it?

This is being blown out of proportion by those that hate the guy to begin with.

if nascar were to apply it's own additional penalties to kyle should ALL employers meet out their own justice when employees break the law? seems fair to me. after all, we wouldn't want kyle to be treated any different than we would be. if the law doesn't provide sufficient penalties then the employer should step in to fill the role of law enforcer...or should they?

If you got caught speeding and the court let you off easy, would you be cool with your employer slapping you with a fine? Would you think they had the right to do so?

Suspended driver's license for 6 months and 10 days in jail should get his attention. Fines mean nothing to these guys as we have seen.

I'm sure Toyota/Lexus is loving all the free advertisment over this.

They probably knock it down to excessive acceleration and speeding.$500 fine and 120 community service.

STATEMENT: The following is a statement from Kyle Busch: "Today I received a traffic citation in Iredell County. I was test driving a new sports car and I got carried away. I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors, and race teams for my lack of judgment. I take responsibility for my actions and I can assure you that something like this will never happen again. I thank the Iredell County Sheriff's Department and all law enforcement for the hard work they do every day to protect the public and to enforce the laws in a fair and equitable manner."(KBM)(5-25-2011)
UPDATE: Busch was driving a yellow Lexus LFA sports car, and his wife, Samantha, was a passenger. A spokesman for JGR said the organization was aware of the incident and was looking into it. According to the N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles website, Busch could lose his driver's license for at least 60 days with a conviction. That would not affect his NASCAR career, however. Competitors in NASCAR need a license from the organization but not a state driver's license to compete. NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said the speeding ticket does not violate the probation Busch received from the sanctioning body for a pit road altercation at Darlington, S.C., this month. "This is a matter that Kyle will have to handle with the authorities in Iredell County," Tharp said. "Based on what we know right now, this would not impact his status as a NASCAR driver."(Charlotte Observer and a poll at WSOC)(5-25-2011)

If I were a very public symbol of the companies that my employer is funded by through sponsorship that relies heavily on a good public image, most certainly.

Synopsis:

Busch’s latest bonehead move is just another example of his maverick, outlaw style. He’s reckless, immature and irresponsible. It’s why many fans love him, and many more hate him.

Now we know he’s not just that way on the track – but away from it as well. It’s why he’s NASCAR’s most controversial and polarizing star and why NASCAR and its partners promote his antics. (How long do you think it will be before Texas Motor Speedway has a billboard promoting NASCAR’s latest speed demon?)

I agree with the article.

Didn't Johnson get caught speeding not to long ago too out in California? Let's kick him out of NA$CAR too. Let's kick all the race car drivers all over the world that have been caught speeding out of racing too. I'll bet 100 bucks there's another NA$CAR driver currently driving today that has had a ticket for going faster than 128mph, but since it's Kyle Busche lets lynch him. btw what kind of car do you drive?

Did I say kick him out of NASCAR? No, in another thread, I actually said that he should stay IN NASCAR....so please, stop being melodramatic.

All I'm saying is that It's not "Just boys being boys" or "Aww it's just Kyle being Kyle". No, this was a very dangerous stunt that was done in the back roads of North Carolina, back roads that has alot of driveways and people walking on it, it wasn't the Interstates or the Highway, it was a piece of road that held a real chance of him colliding with someone or something else.

Clearly Kyle Busch is lacking in the "sound judgement" department.

Ok he screwed up, gave Lexus some advertising time, and he appologized....lets move on. There is a lot of should ofs , would ofs could ofs, but none of them happened. He is still a kid, trying to impress his hot babe of a wife, no doubt a lack of judgement, but no harm came of it.....lets go racing!

Let he who is without sin cast the 1st stone.Just how many of you at some time in your life (given the oppurtunity) wouldn't have or has done the same thing. I used to have a Chevy Z28 and I've done the same with it.And if I had the chance to drive that fine Lexus sports car I too would have probably been very tempted to try the same. I know it"s not the safest thing to do but I'm only human. I'm sure that he's not the only NASCAR driver to test out a vehicle on public highways , he just got caught. He 's probably wishing now he had used better judgement, but I guess we all do after we get a speeding ticket.Though I know many question whether he will be treated fairly because of his celebrity status, well I guess if he was an unknown person he could have just payed some high priced lawyers to get him out of it just like many people do today and there wouldn't be such an ado made over this.He has apologised and lets hope it doesn't happen again, and let the judicial system issue his judgement. He's a very talented driver and I think if he stays with Joe Gibbs he'll settle down and the fans will find someone else to hate. The way racing has been lately I would hate to see him not out there making some excitement.

I just hope he gets treated the same way you or I would have, thats all i ask for.

We've all been guilty of speeding, is it stupid? Yes, but when you get caught you need to suffer the consequences of it.

I just hope he gets treated the same way you or I would have, thats all i ask for.

The fact is though that he won't. None of the others caught before did, he won't and the ones that get caught after him won't. No "celebrity" is ever treated the same as us mere mortals.

Exactly.

As for employer sanctions, ever have a company car? My employer requested my driving record every 6 months, as was everyone’s who had a company car.
They didn't care if you were on vacation in your own car out of state when ticketed. If the other state had reciprocal agreement and reported it you were screwed.
Seeing as you needed a company car to do the job without the car you didn't have a job. Saw it happen several times.

This story is a bigger issue than it needs to be. If it wasn't for the fact that KB is one of the most disliked drivers today, there wouldn't be much talk about it if it happened to someone else. I think the fans and the media need to move on.

I imagine that the main driving record that Toyota is concerened with is the one on the track.Thats where he drives his company cars. Besides why did they let him drive around in a car that would run 200mph if they expected him to run 55. the combination of a flat out racer and a rocketship are bound to produce the same results.

He's 26 years old, I'm one year older than him, at some point you need to stop acting like a jackass all the time and grow up. I'd say 26 is a good starting point.
