is there anything more phony than statements attributed to athletes that have been crafted by public relations firms?

who buys that crap? certainly not kyle busch. hell, i'd like him even less if i thought he would actually say something like that.

are we, the audience, really seen as that dumb?

It's all about PR :D

And you're acting like nothing should happen over it.

Maybe you should learn how to read and go back to post 4. I haven't said nothing should happen. In fact I said he should be treated the same as we would be. I said Nascar and Gibbs shouldn't punish him also because it had nothing to do with either of them.

if nascar were to apply it's own additional penalties to kyle should ALL employers meet out their own justice when employees break the law? seems fair to me. after all, we wouldn't want kyle to be treated any different than we would be. if the law doesn't provide sufficient penalties then the employer should step in to fill the role of law enforcer...or should they?

If you got caught speeding and the court let you off easy, would you be cool with your employer slapping you with a fine? Would you think they had the right to do so?

If I were a very public symbol of the companies that my employer is funded by through sponsorship that relies heavily on a good public image, most certainly.

Exactly.

As for employer sanctions, ever have a company car? My employer requested my driving record every 6 months, as was everyone’s who had a company car.
They didn't care if you were on vacation in your own car out of state when ticketed. If the other state had reciprocal agreement and reported it you were screwed.
Seeing as you needed a company car to do the job without the car you didn't have a job. Saw it happen several times.

↑ I agree

↓ I disagree

I sure as hell would. I would mash it on the test drive with the salesman in the passenger seat. When I worked for Ford we would take the demos out and see what they would do :beerbang:
My dad did that with a SHO once. Said he scared the salesman half to death.

Could you imagine asking to take a Z06 for a test drive? Or even a base vette? '

Better yet, ask Andy Lally or Vaugh Gitin Jr to drive! :p

A good lawyer will argue self defence. Kyle thought he seen Harvick in the mirror, and stepped on the gas, and the throttle stuck on his toyota. "CASE CLOSED":beerbang:

If an employees actions look bad on an employer, they might fire said employee. Free Market 101.

Why do you hate America?

Am I the only one who thought he looked high in this video? Also, I totally buy his apology...

Well, sometimes there are consequences for doing stupid things.

There are ALWAYS consequences for doing stupid things.

Oh good lord, seriously. This whole "he coulda killed somebody" crap is just that...crap. Melodramatic BS.

Y'all Kyle Busch haters need to get over yourselves. Continue to boo him, continue to hate him, whatever. But realize that speeding down an empty county road in a car that's made for it nothing more than that, and something that thousands of car guys have done over they years. Some get busted, some don't.

Jeez, bunch of panzy-assed, self-righteous whiners on this board.

When was the last time you've been down a back country road? I travel on one everyday, and let me tell you, during the day people pull out in front of you all the time. Now imagine what would've happened if someone pulled out in front of Kyle while he was speeding down this back country road.

If being concerned about the safety of not only Kyle, his wife, and other drivers, then I guess I'm a panzy ass self-righteous whiner.

So worrying about the safety of Kyle and anyone else who might've been on the road makes people a panzy-assed self-righteous whiner?

Apparently....

I stand by what I said. Seriously, how many people do you think have gotten in a bad fast car, been on an empty country road and said to themselves "lets see what this thing'll do..." Plenty. And plenty have not been caught, plenty have been been caught. There have been deaths too. But guess what, it will still happen, and the only reason y'all are so up in arms is because you don't like Kyle.

I guess you think Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, Dukes of Hazzard, et al, should all be banned because the actions they portray "might kill somebody."

Again, car guys have been doing this kind of stuff for year, and will continue to do stuff like this for years.

Get over yourselves....

Last time I checked, whenever they shoot a movie like Smokey and the Bandit, Blues Brothers, etc. they are done on a closed course, or the streets are closed off to regular traffic.

Which brings us back to my original point that if Kyle wanted to see what this Lexus could do, he should've rented out Charlotte Motorspeedway for a few hours. You can't tell me he doesn't have the money for it, hel I'm sure Charlotte has a road course he could drive on.

Do you ever think before you type, or do you just mash the keyboard and stupid comes out?

Isn't there a four lane highway you can go play in somewhere?

They might, but doesn't mean they should.

So, me saying he should be treated the same as any of us means I hate America? I have to say, you are so funny.

I have to say, this thread is getting ridiculous.

What happened to the spokesperson and CEO at BP when they made the most asinine statements in the history of corporate America?

It's not a new precedent. When somebody, who is the face of an organization, does stupid ass moronic things, they tend to get fired. Happens a lot. In fact, Kryle has had A LOT of chances. He got himself fired from Hendrick, and he's trying his hardest to get himself fired from Gibbs.

Of course, Kyle's fans would defend him if he was caught on camera murdering someone... "oh, other people have killed people to, it's nature". Fact is, like it or not, there are laws for a reason.

Maybe it IS Andy.......... ;)

Incorrect. The only circumstance which I would root for Jimmie is if he were racing for the win against a Gibbs driver.

Shame, I like Joe Gibbs but he's got the three biggest dickheads in auto racing under one roof (Kyle, Denny and Tom Logano).

Fair enough.

Tom? I thought it was Tony...or are there two Logano driving in Cup?

Tom Logano, Joey's father. The one who fights all of Joey's fights for him and throws Joey in the ring like a chiwawa in a dogfight vs. a pitbull.

I like Joey Logano, can't stand his dickhead father.
