As always, appreciate your perspective. The thing that is impressive to me is that he isn't fazed by not closing out races. This isn't in his head. I wish it was. Tonight will be telling on both the performance side, and obviously, the closing out races side because this race requires staying up with the track. Larson's starting position could either mean that he is carrying the necessary downforce to negotiate traffic and he is mega fast, or he was trimmed out, and he will fall off. If it is the former, we could be looking at a Truex-esque blow out.
Yeah I think you hit it square on the head. The track is going to change a lot. It being an impound race the first stage should go to the trimmed out cars. The question is can they or do they have enough adjustment built in when it gets dark to be able to get more downforce. Obviously Truex's bunch has more downforce dialed in and the Hendricks went for way less.

I'd like to think that, but it's hard to know. Maybe Hendrick is that good? I am ready to find out. Enjoy this great race!

Everybody relax, Larson will be and do, just fine tonight at Charlotte. Trust me, :D
This season is testimony to the fact that performance cannot simply be measured in wins and points. Larson has been the best by far IMO. If I was a Larson fan, I would be very happy right now. He will only get better. I never say **** like this, but I am not wondering if he can win a championship with Hendrick, I am starting to think how many....

One sponsor.Things are certainly looking up for him.How many weeks are we into the season? Just checking.
Hendrick has deep enough pockets for the 2nd place guy...
3 whole races sponsored., with 2 TBD. Impressive indeed.
I wonder how long Larson continues to be sponsor less. Hendrick cars is not really a sponsor, it's just Rick paying his team..
For those who are concerned about those kind of things

If you are having a hard time grasping that Larson and car has been out front leading over a thousand laps this year is having a hard time finding sponsors? So be it. ;)

Larson's stock continues to rise as time goes on this season. I'm no financial whiz, but if Hendrick is putting together sponsor deals for next year, the longer wait the better IMO.

Maybe his views on racism are why people aren't rushing to find space on the car. Who would want to associate themselves with what he said....Maybe One of Bubbas sponsors could chip in....
Anyway, I tire of this.... Podium me .

And for all the 99,000 posts talking about how amazing he is he doesn't have the most wins on his team and is tied with Michael McDowell for wins this year. Pressure will really be on him when Chase dominates Sunday

Also, talk about bandwagoners. Most people disowned him as a human being and wanted him out of the sport a year ago. Now he's AJ Foyt 😛

Update, he's no longer tied with McDowell.

Also: he’s almost 29.

Joey Logano is only 2 years older and has 28 wins and a championship.

Larson has 7 wins. He’s supremely talented but we’ve been saying for 7 years now “oh just wait till he learns to close out races!”

Still waiting. Not every race they lose is his fault but there’s been other drivers in nascar history that just didn’t have any luck at all. It’s always something, and the times his team doesn’t screw it up he does something stupid. He’s a more talented version of Kasey Kahne but has the same issues he did.

On dirt, the kid is a legend though. Won’t deny that

Waited 2 weeks.

Rick Hendrick says sponsorship for Kyle Larson will come

Following Kyle Larson’s dominating win at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Coca-Cola 600 Sunday night, Rick Hendrick was asked if Larson’s performance this year would create more sponsorship opportunities:
Q. Do you feel like this win is going to be able to create more sponsorship opportunities?
RICK HENDRICK:
Yeah, we’ve got a lot of things working with Kyle. Selfishly I like having Hendrick cars on it because I like for our business the — all of the hits we have on the internet and all the fans, we’re selling cars and having — we’re having a lot of fun with it.
Listen, we’ve talked to a lot of people. There’s not going to be any problem getting a sponsor for Kyle.

Come on why would anyone here listen to Rick Hendrick? You and I both know he doesn't know as much about his racing teams then us members here do. ;) :)

Ya know @Revman , I appreciate your super support of Toyota, but, I really appreciate you seeing the raw talent of Kyle Larson and appreciating it. I am a driver guy not a manufacturer guy.
Thank you man. I am not bull****ting anybody here. I really believe that this is Kyle Larson's championship to lose. That was a very kind post, and I really appreciate the props.

Really surprised to see you this supportive of a non TRD driver.

I am not sure I would use the word "supportive." ;) I want MY guys to kick his ass, but Larson's competitiveness right now is undeniable. I get a huge rush out of the challenge now of chasing him down. Kyle battling the HMS crew was very intriguing all night long last night on so many levels.

Anybody see the post on social media?....I can't find it right now, but here's what was apparently said over the 9's scanner....

Alan: "What do you need right here?"
Chase: "A ****** '5' on the side of my car."

Okay, that is awesome.

You know what that reminds me of?

NH 2013: CC "you're faster than everyone except the 48"

Truex: "Well there's a ******* surprise"

Indy 2013: BK "you gotta wonder if he feels bad about being so much faster than everyone every ******* week"

I do wonder if an HMS driver dominating the sport is just part of modern day NASCAR. Could be Chase, could be Kyle.

While I'm a Byron fan I have always liked Larson as well, and tbh he's starting to look more like a version of Jeff Gordon (who also came from open wheel etc) than Kasey Kahne. I understand he is not yet a champion, but this is also his first season in cars anywhere near this good, and look at how that's gone so far.

Just for example the argument vs Logano having more wins at a similar age etc forgets the equipment aspect IMO.

Toyota should've never let that man walk
I will make another point about this....at that time, TRD was not in the business of developing drivers as I mentioned. In fact, they were quite against it. I believe that they shopped him, but there were no takers because he didn't bring money.....except Chip. I don't think Larson would have ever left Chip because of that. I am wondering if Chevy has finally ponied up a PSA....or maybe Jim Campbell claims him after he wins the championship.

Yeah, unfortunately this is fiction though lol. There's a verified team account on Twitter and this got posted by a copycat account.
