I think they got that backwards, especially for a producer of performance content. No matter how it looks, what's memorable is that it's hauling @$$ competitively. If it's "brutish and simple", paint it green, add Bruce Banner to the driver panel, and don't make it angry. You won't like it when it's angry.
 
Interesting to see what they used and how they used it to shed the weight while retaining the safety goals. They are down in the total weight area of the other GT cars.

They got up to around 190 MPH top speed in the afternoon session, they may have trimmed out a bit.

For being that quick without any experience I think they’ll crack 3:50 by the end of the week. They can be ahead of the GTE cars even after they’re all finished sandbagging.

yeah I was wondering about all of the sandbagging and wondering if the Nascar boys are doing the same. Goodyear might have some "special sets" of matched tires laying around.
 
I wonder if this car has a pit limiter or if they're going to allow the drivers to go by the tach.

This is an interesting development item:

A passive, non-battery, sensor is cured into the tire during production that provides real-time tire data to Hendrick Motorsports.

I'm looking forward to see how the NACSCAR platform performs this weekend. I figure the car has had controlled testing with simulation equipment plus a lot of real world testing via weekly races with 40 cars. I figure the Garage 56 car is based of the Cup car with changes teams dream of having.

Back in the 1990s my place of employment had a Silk Cut Jaguar on a moving test track we built back then. We made all kinds of automotive test equipment. Valvoline brought their Indycar track trailer to get shock testing equipment installed. I was surprised that racing teams would acquire expensive test equipment that manufactures bought back then, I can't imagine what they spend these days.
