Someone the other day mentioned they never see adds or are never contacted to come back to a track. I'm starting this thread to post some of the specials that I see advertised. This thread isn't for private sales. No EBay and the like. I don't think that is allowed here. It's only for the sales from the track ticket offices themselves.

Mods..... If this kind of thing isn't allowed on this site, please delete the thread.

Got an email from Martinsville this morning with this banner advertising this ticket sale for today only. Though some of you that are longing to go see a real NASCAR race might be interested. Two seats for the Cup race in the South Terrace or Old Dominion Tower. My seats are in the South Terrace. It is an excellent seat location. The entire, paperclip shaped, track is directly in front of you. The sun is always behind you. No problem seeing all the action from this location. Almost the entire pit road including the all important race off of pit road can be seen from the end of the front straight up high in these seats.

I've already got my tickets but if this is your first time going, call them. Tell the ticket agent you want them to throw in pre-race pit passes for that price. Don't be afraid to ask. They may just do it for you. They've done it more than once for me at no added cost. These tracks are all desperate to sell seats. You can click on the link below or Order by Phone 1-877-RACETIX.

If you miss this sale, don't worry. They will have plenty more as the time gets closer.

If you do make it to the South Terrace, stop over and say Hi. I'll be sitting in section #201 with a big a$$ grin on my face! :D

I like this thread. I get several emails with special deals from every track that we've been to and some we haven't. I'll try and remember to post them. :D

It will be a cold day in July before you see anything from Bristol.

I have had a seat in this area 5 times and once at the start/ finish line. Much easier to watch the race between turns 1/2!

I just got an email about this.

If you aren't on Martinsville's email list, get on it. They make some fantastic offers. This past race I got the green flag experience for free. Keep an eye out.

This was in an email I got today from Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It looks like a really good deal for RVers. We need to bump this thread every once in a while so we don't lose it.

Bring your RVs to the Wild West shootout!
Calling all RVers! Stock up your rigs and head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March as the 1.5-mile speedway hosts the first leg of the NASCAR Goes West three-race extravaganza. $199/week. Part of what makes the RV lifestyle the best way to attend a race IMO. Staying @ the track or within a short walking distance alleviates and all parking and traffic woes. It's much more relaxing and far cheaper than the motel/hotel plan. No need to be in a hurry to get to the track or leave.

Pocono runs all sorts of deals and are big on stuff for kids (driver access, fun stuff of all description). The main thing is if you renew the seats you currently have (and so far I have been able to renew indefinitely) you get 20% off the sticker price if you renew by Nov., so our $75 seats are $60 and they hit your credit card once a month until right around Daytona, few bucks at a time, no finance charge, you don't have to lay out the whole wad at once. You're a season ticket holder as long as you want to be. Not to mention free parking, bring in your own food/beer. They also have a First Responder discount but I've never looked into it for EMS/fire/police. They were always big on supporting the EMS as well as obviously, military.

Another thing I noticed is they re-numbered the bleacher seats, widening them, not only to accommodate the ample derrieres of us pierogie-munching Yuengling swillers of NEPA, but just for the sake of general comfort it is really nice. Not that space was a problem yesterday but I remember when it used to be back in the day.

This was pre-Pocono II...

My Darling Bride is flat-out terrified that this is how I'll want to spend our retirement. :D

It also make the grandstands appear more fully occupied. ;)

Oh, no doubt. At least they're not painting every other seat a different color yet but that may come too. One of the guys I always go to Pocono with said back in the 70's/80's guys used to buy two tickets so they could park a 1/4 barrel on the empty seat. I have no problem believing that but can't confirm independently.

Bristol is offering some "discounted" tickets to the worst seats in the house that nobody wants to buy. $75 for rows 1-10 on the backstretch.

On a side note, I didn't realize they went up as much as they have on all tickets. No wonder people stopped going.

This today...

I received this one today. It's about Indycar but it's at Sonoma so. :idunno:

Run or Walk Before the Verizon Indycar Series Finale
Sonoma Raceway is proud to introduce the inaugural GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma 5K! It all takes place on Sunday, September 18th prior to the Verizon IndyCar Series season finale.
Registration for the 5K is just $49 and includes race-day admission to the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma. Here is what you will receive:

  • 5K Entry (Run or Walk)
  • General Admission Ticket to the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma
  • Parking Pass
  • Commemorative 5K T-Shirt
  • Limited edition Finisher Medallion

This is a great idea. I was just looking at a few different tracks around us for this fall. I was shocked to see the cheapest Bristol ticket, for a track that is maybe half full each race, was $124 before fees!! That's just ridiculous. The same with Atlanta for next year, $100 for a decent seat. Somebody from this site provided a BOGO for Darlington last year that we used.

I'm not sure what the cost is. I'm sure it's expensive but if you love racing, it may be worth looking at as a option.

And I though the football seats will have a lousy view. The 2nd smallest track, where you can easily see all the way around, and people are going to voluntarily restrict themselves to seeing maybe 50% of it? I could see buying these if you're a pit crew wannabe looking to pick up some tips, but otherwise?

I get a military discount of 50% at Darlington, so I always buy at least one extra for a cooler or just to spread out.

Sometimes it's not all about the view. Just ask anyone that went to the sold out race yesterday.

A few years ago, one of our rv'er friends brought his uncle to the Bristol race. His uncle purchased one of those VIP tickets and had a great time. I didn't ask him what he paid. I guess it's all what you expect out of the experience.

I can understand about a road course. You know going in that your view will be limited.

But Bristol? As you said, it's what you expect. But sitting in the infield at Bristol is like going to a strip club in a welder's helmet. You can have a good time, but you're missing so much that's otherwise available to you.

Yeah, a stripper club in a welder's helmet doesn't sound to appealing.

This is a great thread. I'm considering going to the Michigan or Martinsville race. If I can save money doing so I certainly will. If nothing else, both tracks regular ticket prices are reasonable.

Today only Martinsville tickets in Old Domino tower, south terrace or sprint tower 75$ including pre race pit pass.

Awesome deal at the best venue and race of the season. If anyone has the desire to go to Martinsville, that should help make the decision.

My seating choice is the south terrace. Sun at your back for the day and the entire track is directly in front of you. You don't have to spend the day like you're at a tennis match. Great view of the all important race off of pit road as well.
