NCAA Basketball 2023-2024

She shoots the 3 about twice as much as anyone else in the country but if you can shoot that efficiently (39.3%) at that volume you have the green light to chuck. She also has unmatched range, like Curry/Lillard range relative to the women’s game.

Still the leading assist woman in the game as well. Entire offense runs through her.

So then she should be able to win a championship like other GOATs do then right? $$$

Iowa doesn’t have the same team talent/recruiting classes of the South Carolina, LSU, UConn schools of the basketball world.

The only blemish I would consider on her résumé is getting upset by Creighton in the R32 a couple of years ago. She was genuinely horrible that day, iirc.

So GOATs don’t win championships? If people are going to act like she’s so great, put up or shut up.

Detroit Mercy fall two games short of tying the Pistons’ 28-game losing stream earlier this year. Shout out the one kid “storming” the court at the end.

Mississippi Valley State in Itta Bena, MS is 0-24, their first home game was on January 6th. They started off the year with 13 road games.

It’s gotta kinda suck being a player at a SWAC school like that, essentially being on the road all the time before conference play and as sacrifice to play nothing but blowout buy games.

Same for Chicago State, they’ve already played their final game against a D1 opponent earlier this week.

MVS has some decent attendance numbers for a town of 2,000 people in the middle of nowhere Mississippi.

Chicago State is joining a conference next season.

Had to sweat out damn near blowing a 25-point lead, but what an awesome time with a record crowd at the Sun Dome today.

Iowa is gonna get bounced out first round of the tournament.

Indiana played dirty as ****. Like, that looked like some backyard goon ball. But Iowa’s players rebound because they’re vertically challenged. And they don’t do well when they’re in a physical literal brawl.

I bet ESPN can’t wait to coronate Angel Reese of LSU as the greatest of all time.

Most of Iowa’s losses are in really tough road environments. They win the next two pretty comfortably and they’ll be in a decent spot with Ohio State making the return trip to end the regular season. That’ll be a huge one, especially if she hasn’t broken Pistol Pete’s record by then.

Depending on that and the Big Ten tourney they’ll still be anywhere from a 1 to a 3 seed.

Not sure the SC women will be beaten by anyone in the tourney this time around though. That defense is intense.

To think, a "bad game" for Caitlin Clark is her scoring 24 points. Anyone who is still trying to paint a narrative that she's not good is a fool.

I actually got very bored with the Iowa/Indiana game very quickly. Just too much pushing and shoving, too many fouls, and IMO, VERY one-sided officiating. One thing I still don't understand about this sport is how you can shove a player to the ground or run into them with the intent of knocking them down and then get free throws.

What is so special about her over other college basketball players? The hype is a bit weird

I mean....she's the highest scorer in women's college basketball history so that's pretty special.

Doesn’t matter unless you win the championship. They aren’t even the best team in WNCAA.

Hate that school anyways there should be a seperate thread. Maybe if she was at South Carolina, LSU, or Tennessee. Some folks wouldn’t be so critical.

The fake beef people on here make about her is interesting. I hope she does better in the WNBA than NCAA. Iowa U sucks sometimes.

Women’s ball can be even more physical in ways than the men’s game. Men tend to take more 3s on average, and the 3PT line is also further back than the women’s so there’s more floor spacing overall. Ends up with a lot more activity inside a more crowded arc for the women.

I think many would also say in general the quality of officiating in WBB has not nearly kept up with the increased level of play and popularity. Lots of refs who tend to call either nothing or everything.

Pretty decent game between two tournament bubble teams (16-10 Utah vs 17-9 Colorado), PAC-12 Network sucks so no one will watch.

Blowout loss, left early to enjoy better food instead. Wow

The NIT is a little screwed up this year.
Colorado is really good at home.

Yeah, really too bad they got rid of the auto bids for regular season champions who miss the NCAAT. Lots of mid/low majors gonna get screwed.
