Generally the Chiefs defense has been awful. Today the defense played above expectation until the last two drives, and kept them in the game for the first three quarters.

In the final 10 minutes, neither defense stopped the other side.
 
I will never be a Bob Kraft fan, but that was a classy remark and tribute to Lamar Hunt.
 
I don’t dislike the Pats for the same reason I don’t dislike Jimmie Johnson. Seeing greatness is a privilege and the game planning by Coach B and the execution by Tom Brady and his cast was terrific.

Chiefs pass rush has never been that good. They have an undersized front seven outside of Chris Jones. They mostly were the "Bend don't break" type of defense.

I'm not sure if it will be a great SB because I don't trust Goff for some reason. The defense, especially the front seven of the Rams are the key to their success. If they stop Donald and Suh, its going to be a long game...

Brady does that though. Kansas City's defense isn't that good. Everyone bought too much into the win against Indianapolis, which realistically is a 16th ranked team. Indianapolis and Houston both had ridiculously easy schedules down the stretch, when they did all their winning, and they both still lost to really bad teams.

Over the course of the season, the Chiefs defense was historically bad. Today it could have been good enough if the offense had been more on point in the first three quarters. They need to make changes on defense for sure.

Chiefs have a ton of cap room but I still think that offense will be picked apart in free agency. Especially if they work on beefing up defense as well.

Mahomes looks like he'll be one of the all-time greats, but time will tell. All it takes is one injury. Plus, he's in a historically great offense right now.

I also think they got a little over-confident after the Colts game. The Colts were overrated bigtime, yet they were repeatedly being called the most dangerous team in the NFL. The road to the Super Bowl doesn't go through a shutout loss to the historically bad Jaguars. But the Chiefs thought after that game they were gonna blow out the Pats.

The Chiefs also had a pretty easy schedule themselves. The only good teams they beat all year was the Chargers in the first of two games and the Ravens.
 
So, @Johali ..... I'm guessing the sports talk radio in your neck of the woods is going nuts over yesterday's officiating? They are here and we had no vested interest.
 
I wonder if this year’s Super Bowl will take a TV ratings hit considering it’s between a team most people are sick of and a team most people feel shouldn’t be there?

I’m not going to make Super Bowl plans. At this point I’m not interested in watching. That may or may not change, depending on what I have going on with working on my old truck.

If I was on the officiating team in the Saints game last night I would be sitting in an Igloo on the arctic circle about now. Even then It wouldn't be absolutely safe. They're going nuts.

I'm a football fan through and through. I'll be watching. My wife talked about not watching it but I quickly called BS on that. She said, 'Yeah, you're right'.

We normally switch over to AFC mode and would root for whatever team represents. Unless it's the Pat's. Then, it's anyone but. That's the reason we'll be watching. We'll hope to see them lose just like they did to the Steelers this year. We'll probably be disappointed but there's always a chance.

It's a damn shame when the officiating becomes the news. It should never be that way. Far too many games this season have had similar circumstances.

It is possible but the big game seems to transcend the entire the game of football itself.

As far as football fans go I think that we all see the ineptitude of the officials far too often. However over the course of a year I think these things even out.

No question the NFL needs to hire some new blood and and do some serious retraining.
