NFL 2023-2024

Apparently he and our new GM weren’t seeing eye to eye. I hate to see him go, he’s had a pretty bare cupboard roster-wise the last couple years.

I think Vrabel is a damn good coach, and I'm very surprised to see he's leaving Tennessee.

I don't know if Ran Carthon will be a good GM, but I love the guy. He played at Florida in college (I'm a huge Gators fan) and I thought he was a very underrated player. As far as his career as a scout and in an NFL front office, I have heard nothing but great things about him as a talent evaluator and as a person. I hope it works out well for him and the Titans.

He’s a pretty sprightly 72, but 72 nonetheless. I would’ve expected this more two years ago when they were in shakier ground, but makes sense regardless. He had a phenomenal coaching career though and has been a great personality to have in the game.

Wonder if the Seahawks will take a flyer on Kalen DeBoer.

I just want to see Raiders extend the winning streak over Broncos to 9 & 10 games in a row in the “Josh McDaniels Bowl”.

I am honestly sad to see Belichick go in this way. I hope he retires and doesn’t try to go elsewhere, he has nothing left to prove.
I agree he’s got nothing left to prove. But I could see him thinking he does, and wants to show folks he can win one without Brady. I definitely agree that he doesn’t need to do that however.

Belichick and Brady were lightning in a bottle. Belichick is a defensive genius who created a clubhouse culture that facilitated prolonged success. Tom Brady was a machine with incredible work ethic, who could push his offensive weapons and get more out of them than anyone else could. Without Belichick, I don't think Brady wins more than a couple of rings. We've seen top tier talent who don't have six rings, Peyton Manning, John Elway, Brett Favre, Dan Marino, Aaron Rodgers....the list goes on and on. Belichick created the culture that created a 20 year dynasty, Brady provided the longevity and stability under center.

Like I've said before, Brady and Belichick are the Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus of football. Individually, they're great. Together, they're unstoppable. Jimmie Johnson could have won a Cup without Chad but he wouldn't have 7. Brady and Belichick could not have accomplished what they did with anyone else.

Aye, you ain’t have to say all that, I just was saying what HE MIGHT want to prove. As I said he’s got nothing else to prove as he’s the best coach ever, so like you wasted time trying to say all that when I never said anything other wise. Like I ain’t say he HAS to prove it. I said maybe he wants to.

I was making a broader point, not attempting to refute your point. I hope Bill realizes his place in history and doesn't taint his legacy. The guy is a God in Boston and a legend around the country.

He was such a hound dog for the press conferences and he is going to miss them

The weather reports for some playoff games looks to be terrible. I seriously wonder if they may be forced to cancel a game or two. It could be worse than when they played the Ice Bowl. I have sympathy for those in the Kansas - Miami game and the Buffalo - Steelers game.

They say that the Kansas - Miami game may be so cold that fans who purchase beverages, including beer, could have their drinks freeze solid due to the extreme temperatures.

If the Kansas City game goes as scheduled, it's going to be a miserable experience for both the fans and the players. Players got frostbite during the Ice Bowl and one guy died from exposure in the stands.

Some people going to underestimate how you should dress for the weather and some people are going to be drunk off their ass. This has the potential to be a PR nightmare.

One person says that it will be a necessity to bring some cardboard or piece of carpet to the game to stand on or the concrete will make it unbearable. It really has the making of a disaster to some fans/players.

They're already talking about rescheduling the Bills game.

I've experienced -30 degree wind chills, I don't think there's anything you can do to make it bearable.

I don't even know how you reschedule it without changing the venue. It's supposed to be bitterly cold in KC until Wednesday (when it gets to a balmy 29). No team should have to play a Wednesday night game and then turn around and play in a playoff game on Sunday. I know we see teams play on Sunday and then Thursday in the regular season but the playoffs are different animal and it'd be unfair to KC or Miami to put them in that spot.

They're already talking about rescheduling the Bills game.
There was a rumor of moving the game to Cleveland but Buffalo has refuted it. The rumor was started by KDKA in Pittsburgh. :)

Many years ago I lived in Bradford, PA and there were days that the temperature there was the coldest in the U.S.

How do you make it fair to all the playoff teams though if you move one game into a warmer place and force, say, Buffalo - Steelers to play in unbearable temps.

Mid-20s and wind is different than -30 wind chills. There's a point where it goes from "this is an uncomfortable game but you can layer for it and be fine" to "people could legitimately die while spectating this game."

There's no real way to make it 100% fair. Weather is always going to be a factor. Moving any game has to be done in the interest of safety.

The weather issues that are of concern for the Buffalo hosted game are surrounding travel. Often, that corridor is extremely hazardous with frequent closures of I-90. Last year, if you remember, there were a number of fatalities in and around Buffalo that were storm related.

I think in KC they're mainly concerned with the temperature's. Those fans better bundle up. I've been living in sub zero temps the past few days and I know I don't want to be out for long. I'm currently in Davidson Saskatchewan where it's -18. Was in Edmonton this morning where it was -21. I was outside for about 45 minutes. Wouldn't want to do more than that. I would not want to sit in those KC stands for a sub zero game.
