It is not as widespead or corrupt as people thinkHas anyone leaked the script for the first round results? I wanna know whether I have reason to watch Detroit play LA or whether I can make different plans.
I get that. Companies were really impressed with Stafford’s acting skills after his Super Bowl victory back in 2022 though. I remember seeing him in several commercials following that game. He wasn’t able to show the emotions that Mahomes does, but he was still believable enough. It is not as widespead or corrupt as people think
The head coach, QB, a reciever and the defensive cornerback interception reciever are probably the only players with an actual script to execute. The rest of the starters probably dont get to see a script. That limits it to only 4 or 5 players having to act or play a part.
There just aint many that can act as stunned and hurt as Mahomes, they have to keep it real for those players and us civilians.
I agree. He has had a great tenure at Pittsburgh. I think he has got some more left in the tank. There is a rumor floating around that I hope is not true. It is that Mike Tomlin will leave the Steelers. Person stating the rumor says that Tomlin will either go into TV with a Network, go to the Commanders, or go to the Rams. I really hope it is all BS. The Steelers are a storied franchise and their coaches stay a long time (which Tomlin has done).
Schefter was on TV yesterday saying Tomlin may want to take a year off like Payton did to evaluate the market and wait for a better opportunity. There is a rumor floating around that I hope is not true. Sometimes it's time to move on. It's funny how much the national narrative on Coach T differs from those of us that live in the Pittsburgh market. It's hammered by the national media how lucky we are to have x # of non losing seasons. Mediocrity isn't success. It breeds mediocrity.Schefter was on TV yesterday saying Tomlin may want to take a year off like Payton did to evaluate the market and wait for a better opportunity.
I think he’s tired of playing with mid QBs and constantly winning 9 games and picking in the middle of the first round isn’t going to fix that anytime soon.
I spent a couple hours of my life during the Holidays trying to explain the different streaming platforms to older members of my family. A couple of them had smart tvs that while technically "smart" were too outdated to download the Peacock app.Just googled 'Peacock Playoff Game'. Lots of irate people out there. Welcome to 2024 I guess. Well, 2023 too. I mean, Thursday night games have been exclusivity on Prime this past season. If you're from with the KC or Miami markets, you'll still see your game on NBC just like the home markets that got their Thursday games on their locals. It's just those of us that live outside of those markets that are inconvenienced. $5.99/month with no commitment. Could cancel right after the game but you'll still get the service for the remainder of the month. You can choose the 'Cancel Plan' on their website.
Probably a great move by the NFL/NBC combo to select the 'Swifty Playoff Game' to do this with. They'll be lots of new subscribers at Peacock this week.
Probably will see more of this in the future if this is a success, and it will be. This is the NFL. Those that profess their dismay and inevitable departure from watching the sport aren't fooling anyone. They'll all be back. They always come back.
I too went through all of those same discussions in the past with older family members. Trying to teach my parents about satellite television and DVR's was challenging. Life's like that I guess. Someday my children will become frustrated with explaining things to me.I spent a couple hours of my life during the Holidays trying to explain the different streaming platforms to older members of my family. The decision is great for the NFL. Because they already got paid by NBC/Peacock for this deal.
Is it a great deal for NBC and Peacock? That part remains to be seen.
It is wild that Buffalo could earn the #2 seed or completely miss the playoffs all in the final week.
In fairness to Tomlin. the winning percentage for the 3 Steelers coaches while with the SteelersSometimes it's time to move on. He would go on to, as they say, being hired in a second. And that's okay. A change would do him good and it may allow us to have a record that could produce a better draft selection that may yield the next franchise quarterback. We probably need to go through lean years in order to get us pointed in the right direction.
We went through this same scenario in Chuck Noll's latter years. That's what took us to Bill Cowher. That didn't work out to bad.

Not putting Coach T down. He's my favorite of the three mentioned. Quite a wordsmith and has a passion for the game.In fairness to Tomlin. the winning percentage for the 3 Steelers coaches while with the Steelers
Tomlin .623 winning %
Cowher .623 winning %
Noll .566 winning %
Damn, this feels like the end of an era. Vrabel’s gone, Tanny’s gone, there’s probably a 99% chance Derrick Henry is gone. I’ll always have fond memories of that 2019 season even though we came up a little bit short.

Winning % numbers are fine. As a fan I'd love to see those numbers translate into Playoff appearances earned and capitalized on. That's something we're not accomplishing. We're lucky to make the post season without help. Hopefully that can change.
You need to get off Facebook and actually interact with people. I'm from the Pittsburgh market. I listen to Pittsburgh sports talk all week long. I've not heard a single fan state what you are saying you read on Facebook. I've only heard a few people that think they could possibly get past this weekend.Apparently, this is why Tomlin's considering leaving. The roster's never good enough to take the next step.
Tomlin's taking 6-11 rosters and getting 10+ win seasons out of them. Playoff appearances with Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph? Best coach in the NFL, by a country mile.
I am actually amused by all the Steelers fans I know on Facebook who were calling for Tomlin's head two weeks ago now gloating about playoffs and being the best team in NFL history. I know this playoff run is happening because of Jacksonville's historic collapse and Baltimore resting starters, but it still happened.
Pittsburgh going to the playoffs with a 6-10 (at best) roster while Jacksonville is sitting at home with a 12-5 (at worst) roster is a perfect illustration, and why Pittsburgh is one of the greatest franchises in the history of professional sports and why Jacksonville will always be the league laughingstock.
Yeah my grandparents can’t quite figure it out either, no matter how many times I show them.I spent a couple hours of my life during the Holidays trying to explain the different streaming platforms to older members of my family. Vrabel’s probably already on a flight to Logan International. He's probably headed to NE. After they announce Bills release.
Apparently he and our new GM weren’t seeing eye to eye. I hate to see him go, he’s had a pretty bare cupboard roster-wise the last couple years.I'm surprised by this one. I don't think Tennessee's struggles are Vrabel's fault at all.
I remember the clip of him being pissed on draft night ‘22 when the AJ Brown trade went through. Treylon Burks hasn’t panned out at all.Apparently he and our new GM weren’t seeing eye to eye. I hate to see him go, he’s had a pretty bare cupboard roster-wise the last couple years.

Well, I am probably older than your grandparents and what I couldn't figure out was how to cancel Peacock after I had it. It was the toughest thing to do. Nowhere do they let you do it on their website. I had to engage a person in their 'chat" and not let her go until she went through all the steps in cancelling it and promise that my subscription was actually cancelled.Yeah my grandparents can’t quite figure it out either, no matter how many times I show them.
$6 PPV for a playoff football game is hardly the worst thing in the world but for the technologically illiterate it’s still not very accessible.
It's under the Account>Change or Cancel Plan>Cancel Plan option on the website. When you cancel, it expires at the end of your current billing cycle. I've used it numerous times. You're then able to restart it when you want to subscribe again. We usually cancel it after we're done bing watching whatever it is we want to watch. Most streaming services allow for the same.Well, I am probably older than your grandparents and what I couldn't figure out was how to cancel Peacock after I had it. It was the toughest thing to do. Ever hear of T.J. Watt! You really underestimate the Steelers. No, they aren't as good as SF or Baltimore but they earned their way into the playoffs. The season is 18 games. Remember, the Steelers beat Baltimore not once this year but twice.Apparently, this is why Tomlin's considering leaving. The roster's never good enough to take the next step.

7-1 against Baltimore over these past four years. Not sure why but I like it.Ever hear of T.J. Watt! You really underestimate the Steelers.
