NFL 2025-26

Pittsburgh just got very obviously robbed of an offsides by Green Bay that the Steelers justifiably treated as a free play. What are we doing here?

The Steelers' uniforms are ugly, but there is something about being confident enough to own that history.

Very bad first half for the Packers followed by a great third quarter. They are firing on all cylinders now and it will be interesting to see if the Steelers have an answer.

When is replay assist used, you ask? Whenever they want it to be.

I'm fine with getting the right call, but they might as well just make everything reviewable all the time.

Twelve games played now this week and only one of them (Jets/Bengals, at that) has been decided by one score. That’s actually an impressively bad slate of games.

Yeah that explanation was complete nonsense. Even the “criteria” is subjective. Definitely a fan of expedited calls but who gets to decide if something is “obvious” enough to use it and when they have to officially burn a challenge?

It's a play that can't be officiated. Because they're all in this scrum, the officials from their vantage point cannot see the illegal formations and the false starts. Those only get seen during overhead replays after the fact. And with current NFL rules, you can't challenge it. You can't call it back a minute later.

I wasn't on board with the "it's going to hurt someone" or the "it's not a football play" stuff. The inability to officiate the play is an issue, and this was starting to get called out last year, but a lot of that was largely on the back burner because of the blatant BS going on in Kansas City games.

So officiate it better. Warn both lines before the game and start calling penalties. The Eagles and defenses will adjust.

Maybe it is as simple as “officiate better” but the play as it is now is indefensible. The defense can’t jump offsides or line up in the neutral zone, but the guards can launch early. On the off chance the defense creates a turnover, we’ll retroactively claim forward progress was stopped. If the defense survives the initial rush, we’ll let the scrum push forward for another two or three yards. You can’t defend it.
That was an awful call. I text my group chat and said I'd be pissed if I was a Giants fan.

That was a terrible call. How could all the officials possibly not see it.
No excuses but who knows how it may have impacted the game.

The Steelers just got their asses kicked in that second half.
Yeah, they really looked bad all around. I have been a Steelers fan all of my long life but am now having some doubts. :(
